King Salmon doesn’t have a ton of places to dine at, but the Sockeye has super good food!! The gunslinger burger is the most delicious burger I have ever had and I am not exaggerating. The fries are perfect and large, and they have plenty of menu options. The dining area is separate enough from the bar that it feels comfortable and inviting even for those like myself who don’t drink. Any place in the area is pricy because it’s remote Alaska, so this place is worth a visit if you’re in town.

Sockeye Saloon is the first place that will catch your eye in King Salmon. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They'll typically have evening events like Darts or Karaoke. The staff is friendly and helpful and always provide a good time and atmosphere. If you're stopping in King Salmon for any reason, you'll want to belly up or party at the Sockeye.

Cute little bar to get some food and drinks at while you wait for your next flight. They had a good variety of food and beers. The service and atmosphere were great as well.

Very good service and very good food! Stayed in King Salmon for a night and this was one of the only places that serves food. The staff was super friendly and the food was good. Not a ton of vegetarian options, but still good selection. Had a miller lite, but apparently there is a good beer selection. All in all happy with the choice

This is the only establishment in King Salmon that serves food.
I understand there is a limited selection of food in such a remote area so maybe this explains the food quality, but the evening wait staff were terrible.
When we went for brunch, the food was great and had slightly better service, however when visiting for lunch or dinner, the service was nonexistent and the food was sub par, especially for the price.
Be prepared to spend at least $30 per person for a meal not including any alcoholic beverages.
On a positive note - the garden salad was one of the good things I found on the menu.

The “REST” of the story…✈️😅
Welcome to the bustling King Salmon Airport — population: us. No vending machines, no announcements, no hope. 🧃❌
Our plane? Oh, it broke down… in Homer. So they had to fly another plane from Anchorage ➡️ Homer ➡️ Anchorage ➡️ us. 🌀🛩️
Stranded for 4 hours. After 2 hours, we each got a fancy bottle of water 💧 (served with a side of exhaustion). Some people had to sit on the floor… I chose a chair. White hair has its privileges! 😂
But then… our tour angels heard of our fate and, completely without any obligation, came back and scooped us up, delivering us to the Sockeye Saloon like VIPs. 🚐💫
One amazing waitress holding down the fort solo 💪, serving a surprise dinner rush like a total boss. Food? Delish. 🍔👏
We laughed, made friends, swapped stories, and turned what could’ve been a grumpy ending into a hilarious highlight. ✨
Sometimes travel goes sideways… and sometimes it goes to the Sockeye Saloon!
