08/19/2023: Pit stop for lunch before heading to the spaceport and Fossil Beach. Really great menu options. Ordered Halibut cheeks and filet. Very satisfied. Staff was friendly. Clean and open setting.

When visiting Kodiak we have tried to enjoy Olds River Inn so many times. And so glad it finally worked out after a long day of fishing! It was SO worth the wait! They fit us in without a reservation, the food and service was amazing! The halibut poppers, halibut cheeks AND all of the desserts were the best choices! But everything was good! Stop in and check them out for sure!

We made reservations and came on a Sunday late afternoon for dinner. My partner got the miso cod which he said was very delicious. I got the parmesan halibut cheeks and that was tasty, as well. We tried their cold salmon dip which was a great start to a fabulous meal. We ended the meal with their rhubarb-strawberry crisp topped with vanilla ice cream and that was the best!

Awesome food and service! We did not stay in the cabins but enjoyed the restaurant! Great food and bar choices! Would absolutely recommend this being a go to place on the island.

Updating my review. I'm adding more photos of what we had this time. The fish tacos were great, we also had the salmon, ribs and kids meal. Everything was fine! We drove all the way out there to be able to sit on the deck because it was a rare sun shining day. We had reservations. We requested to sit outside and the server lady refused and then put us in the darkest corner possible. We arrived right when they opened and there was nobody else in the restaurant. The food took so long to come out, other people that arrived after us all received their food first. All things we could brush off. But the waitress was not friendly at all! She never smiled once. I don't know if she didn't like us, or it's because we had kids with us, but she greeted everyone else that walked in warmly and proceeded to tell them about the specials of the day. She didn't do that with us and she came off as rude.

Aye baby Project Pat out here on Kodiak again. This time coming out to Olds River Inn. Best part of the menu is the halibut poppers and ribeye. Hazy IPAs keep it trill on tap. Stay cool y'all. 5 stars.

Fabulous food, fabulous menu. Staff are super nice. Had the miso glazed black cod and it melted in your mouth like butter. Friends had the halibut cheek and it was delicious. Appetizer was halibut poppers which were wonderful. Dessert was homemade cheesecake that was spectacular. All around truly wonderful and worth the trip. Ambiance was warm and cozy on a drizzly cool night.

Made a reservation for 2 to have brunch on a Sunday. When we showed up, the place was half-full. Nobody helped us so we sat by the window, a waitress told that we can’t seat there… why? “It’s reserved!” Don’t we have a reservation? We got moved without much explanation. Bunch of waiting and many attitudes later we finally got our meal. Cold and mediocre. We tried to rectify but we just got more attitudes. They brought us the check instead of an easy replacement of a couple of food items. 2+ hours later we paid and left to go find a place to eat. Did I see some other review about ‘tips’ and ‘respect for servers’ response from this establishment? I agree!!! But I didn’t leave a tip, you don’t deserve my money or my respect. I wouldn’t eat here again even if it was free.

Great spot for some good food. This place has great atmosphere and the views are incredible.

Went to restaurant with family because we had heard such good things. The view is great and the food tastes delicious. Unfortunately, service was terrible that doesn’t make the drive out worth it. Was bummed that it didn’t go well and we were not the only ones in the restaurant.Took 45 minutes ti sit down with a reservation, missing food from order, and kid’s order was burned. Wasn’t checked on at all during meal. Halibut was very good, wish it was worth coming back for!

Very good food, disappointing service. Was so bummed that the service was so lacking. Food was the only good thing about our experience. From checking in for our reservation and getting skipped over by many people to not receiving correct food and kid’s meal being burned, was really bummed it didn’t live up to the views! Great spot and fun to look out on the deck, but a picnic down the road would have been a better experience.

They didn't seem to want our business. They wouldn't let us past the entey at 3:30, even though it says that they're open until 4:00. There's not much for options around there if you're really hungry...so made it a bit extra disappointing.

Kodiak has restaurants, then they have the Olds River Inn. It's a drive, but it's not McDonalds! When I was there they were serving the latter part of the week and weekend. I went there for Sunday brunch. It was absolutely lovely. By far some of the best dining on the island! Everything was FRESH, the service was excellent, and the bill was totally worth every bite.
