The food is great!......You can tell a clean kitchen in the taste of the food.....the staff is great and the place is the best value you can find in the Northwest Arctic!

Pretty good place! Im not one for asian food but they have lots of other options. They have a kids menu with chicken nuggets and side dishes for picky people! I ordered fries and my travel mates cleaned their plates. The fries were ok and I like the amount of drink options. Its very pricey but being in alaska thats pretty standerd. The service was good althought they forgot someone we were satted by for a bit but apolgused and quickly got the food out. It also doubles as a lil candy store which is nice. A good place in kotzebue :)

Vegetarian options: There are slads and a handful of options

Dietary restrictions: I was picky and able to find things

Parking: Not much parking you will havr to park on the side of the road

12 out of 10 this spot is not to be missed. Great food, fantastic service and more than fair pricing. Would send family and friends here. My friend and I each had a curry with rice. Egg rolls were hot and delicious.

It is Kotzebue. Way too expensive. It is nothing fancy. It was generic fake Chinese just like in Anchorage.

Johnny, please stop giving out your old number. It has been recycled and I have it now. I get calls every time you don’t pay your vendors. I also can’t use my points at petco because you apparently use them. I’ve received bank calls, collection calls, doctor calls. Please STOP giving out your old phone number. This has been causing inconveniences for me for YEARS, I only just found out today where you work because you need to pay Pepsi.

There’s not much to do, or not much to eat in Kotzebue so when you have a bad experience at a restaurant in town and you decide not to eat there anymore but when your cousin comes over and is like hey let’s get empress I’ll buy, of course your gonna say well the food sucked last time, but that was when I spent my own money. This time it was good everything we bought, the eggRolls Mongolian beef fried rice, all of it was delicious and would order it again over and over again

I’ve eaten here since I was a child, back then, It was one of the best places to eat in Kotzebue hands down. I recently moved back to Kotzebue to commercial fish this summer, after a long day on the boat we were so hungry and tired, we decided to order empress, I ordered some hot and spicy chicken, my aunt ordered fish and chips and a banana split, my uncle some egg drop soup with extra wontons, When the delivery driver showed up in a reasonable 25-30 minutes he handed me the credit card receipt to sign, I looked at how much it was and when I seen $116.97 I was expecting the food to be exactly like I remembered, delicious. BUT I couldn’t have been more disappointed, The hot and spicy chicken was so soggy I couldn’t even eat it, it was a mixture of not spicy at all spicy sweet sauce and chunks of poorly tempura breaded chicken with a mixture of canned vegetables and whole dried red chili peppers in the sauce, the white rice was the only thing I enjoyed. My aunt and uncle are older and will eat anything, my aunt said she enjoyed her fish and chips, however it came with a fresh salad with a dismal 4 drops of 1000 island dressing, the lettuce and veggies on the salad were fresh, she just had to use her own dressing out of her fridge, the banana split would have been alright if the ice cream wasn’t old and freezer burnt. my uncle did not enjoy his soup, I’ve never in my 34 years on earth have heard this man say something was not good, I’ve seen him eat some pretty crazy native foods like boiled beluga muktuk drenched in seal oil, dried seal meat also drenched in seal oil, now this native food smelled so absolutely foul, I couldn’t even go into the house, I could smell it when I pulled into the driveway, he said his soup had no flavor and was upset about ordering extra wontons, I was charged $5.00 for 1 extra wonton, there was 3 total in the large bowl of soup. I had called them and asked what they could do about my hot and spicy chicken and their response was I should have eaten it faster, since I attempted to eat it the second it arrived, that was not possible, they did not offer to replace or fix our order at all and hung up on me when I asked for a discount for any of the food. I order food regularly and will no longer be wasting my hard earned money with empress. I would suggest Uutuku or bison st. store for Chinese in Kotzebue. However They all are overpriced. Everything here is out of control expensive. Expect to pay 30+ dollars per dish.

Lemon pepper chicken was outstanding. People in Nome recommended it, and it didn't disappoint.
