Came here with high hopes and was sadly disappointed. Staff was rude, not very welcoming and slow moving. I waited 30 in for a refill and the food was flavorless.
I'm a dog lover to my core but the dogs around this town were absolutely filthy and aggressive. I highly recommend stopping anywhere but here if you wish to enjoy your experience.

The Salmon & Bear Restaurant @ McCarthy Lodge offers an excellent dining experience with great hospitality and wonderful food. The chef's creations are highly praised. The dining room is filled with artifacts from mining days and very charming. Guests are welcomed by a very polite and friendly gentleman. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including a delicious breakfast with great food, except for minor issues with the bacon. Dinner is a set menu with choices of soup or salad, then Copper River salmon grilled on a hot stone or a chicken dish, and dessert. The salmon served on a blueberry/wine/brown sugar gastrique is a delight, and the chocolate/caramel/pistachio tart is scrumptious. The flank steak is cooked to perfection. The service is impeccable, and the rapport quality/price is outstanding.
