First time in here. It’s a cozy atmosphere. Great portions for the price. The fried steak and gravy was delicious.

Friendly staff, just busy!

This is about as rural Alaska as you can get. Nothing fancy and gourmet. Just plain old food. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The restaurant is just dull but the food is ok. If you are hungry then you can eat but do not expect anything special.

Not many places to est in Nome, breakfast this is the SPOT. Great food good people working here. Coffee was always full and food was plentiful. Cost is usual to nome prices.

All in all great little breakfast place.

The Polar Cafe was my favorite place to eat while I was in Nome. Their Breakfasts were plentiful and of a good variety. Their dinner Entrees included freshly caught King Crab. Entrees were also tasty and of good variety. Prices were reasonable by Northern Alaska Standards.,
The view of the frozen Bay from the windows couldn’t be beat.

Several locals sitting at the bar turned their heads around and stared at us when we walked in, very disconcerting. There was nobody sitting in the booths or sitting at the tables, it was dark and gloomy, and no one greeted us so we walked out.

Had two breakfasts here. Large portions of really nice omelettes and fixings. Plenty of coffee and an attentive staff. The only fly in the ointment right now is a wonderful dinner menu but they close at 3pm. we had read the menu rather than the hours so we showed up hungry.

Great food !! Serving breakfast whole day. I love two eggs with hashbrowns and potato fries. The hashbrowns and potato fries are crisp and crunchy. A lot of selections on their menu. Friendly atmosphere!! Good service !!! Highly recommended !!!

Came in for brunch and wasn’t disappointed. Fantastic service, plentiful hot coffee and friendly staff and locals. Oh, and our food was excellent. Biscuits and gravy taste just like I expected and wife had the polar hungry man meal with toasted corned beef hash and eggs and a stack of cakes.

Good place to get breakfast in Nome during winter and get a pint in the afternoon and early evening.

Its was actually a decent fried chicken meal. It was filling , the chicken size was appropriate. Our server was very attentive. I would dine in again for the same meal.

Here for 6 days. Went to this place as it is the only breakfast place in town. Ate once, seated another morning and told to leave as "He" wanted to close, two other mornings they were not open. Admit it was only about an 8 minute walk there each time, but I would have liked breakfast.
