Had a really good sandwich on the amazing homemade bread. Soooo good!!!!
Friendly smiling staff and the best wild rock fish burger I have ever had!
There's not too much choice in Petersburg, and Helse looked like a good option. The staff were all really lovely, unfortunately alot of the cutlery on my table was dirty. The menu is a bit strange- lots of sandwiches, burgers etc along with quite a few oriental dishes. I ordered a Meatball sub which was met with great confusion, and the waitress said it was only on the dinner menu, but she'd make it anyway. I assume she'd misheard me as what I got was a meatloaf. I don't really like meatloaf, but given they'd gone out of their way to make what they thought I wanted, I ate it, and it wasn't bad at all. Prices were reasonable.
Nicest small restaurant in Petersburg with good variation of food. Good service from the friendly owner. Highly recommended!
Literally the greatest bacon cheeseburger of my life.

Great place to stop for a coffee or a meal. The staff member was incredibly kind. Coffee and sandwiches were delicious. Very reasonable prices for an island.
Really nice people and I love counting the money on the wall, hopefully it doesn't shut down… because, AMAZINGGG ICECREAMM ? it’s I think made homemade and I love it cold
Great lunch spot! Best Rueben in Alaska.
Friendly staff, nice menu and good food for a reasonable price. Be sure to try the soups. It looks unassuming, but is very nice.

Excellent friendly service, and good portions for the money! ?
Great ice cream — really hit the spot for an afternoon snack. The Hot fudge Sunday was delicious shared between 3. Perfect treat without being too much.
Great service, delicious breakfast and a fair price. Other customers talked about their shakes and lunch sandwiches. I’ll come back to try their burgers and shakes.
Not much to eat in Petersburg…… but this place surely makes up for not much to eat in Petersburg.. the women name Jennifer….. cooks and runs Helse Restaurant…. She’s does know cooking foods right.. warm cozy restaurant around the corner from kitos kave bar…open 6days a week 10:30am till 3pm closes on Sunday…. Best burger in town and home made soups special daily…. This place does it all… ice cream milk shake ect….
“Most Amazing Lunch This Trip” happened on our 20th wedding anniversary!🏆 🥣 Hearty homemade herb-roasted chicken noodle soup, and 1/2 Reuben made with sauerkraut and dressing from scratch. 🍔 Six whole jumbo shrimp arranged into a burger, seared with Panko, seasoned and grilled perfectly to a crisp and dressed with a homemade sauce on a soft sesame bun. It’s apparent Jennifer’s heart is in her cooking, and that Michael enjoys interacting with his customers. Helse isn’t advertised locally, so we were lucky to stumble upon their delicious menu! If you’re near Middle Harbor, stop in for some homemade goodness, including a wide selection of desserts!
