If I could give it a lower review, I would. On 10/02/2024, I took my family, a party of 7 there to celebrate my brother-in-law birthday. We sat on the second floor, I greeted the waitress/bartender. She completely ignored me, with an attitude stated if we wanted better service to head downstairs. She threw the menu on the table. We left that horrible place. If you want great customer service, go to The Cookery. As you walk in, they greet you with a smile and their food is delicious.

Great experience, our ship docked a day early and they were slammed. Stephanie did a great job, wonderful server. The cheese curds where unreal and the Bloody Mary was so perfect.
The deep fried cheese curds really wow'd me. And my sister finally got a decent bloody mary after searching all of Alaska ;) Thank you to our server Stephanie L.

TOURIST TRAP ALERT. We got the Stuffed Halibut with Crab on a lobster bisque sauce ($43), it sounded good but was a huge disappointment!! Tiny piece of fish, the peas tasted like it came from a frozen can, the rice had a weird texture and I was left hungry. The pesto halibut $38 was again tiny piece of fish, served with bland canned peas no sauce whatsoever, the fish itself lacked flavour and there was barely any pesto sauce. The caribou meatloaf other members of my family member got basically went like this - one bite of cooked meat one bite of undercooked meat. It tasted like something my aunt Sally made if she had the flu. The whole family left hungry after spending $220+ for 5 people and felt ripped off. Really sucks especially when we travelled so far looking for some good seafood. You are better off saving your money for something like the Glacier Brewhouse back in Anchorage. I feel sorry for the staff works here, serving up such shitty food, it must feel pretty embarrassing.

The salad was really good. The fish was unseasoned. We had Halibut and Rockfish. The clam chowder was more like a flavorless gravy. The staff was amazingly friendly and good at there job.

Don't let their Halibut jade your opinion, service was lovely in a great location.

Cons: the hostess was not friendly at all and just kind of mumbled and looked annoyed at the world. The food was good, but a little overpriced.
Pros: Our waitress was very friendly and bubbly and the service was super fast!

Lazy food: flavorless soup, followed by luke-warm crab cakes accompanied by canned green beans and plain white rice - which did not match the description of "fresh, seasonal vegetables" and "dijon aioli rice". Certainly not worth the cost while there are several higher quality restaurants in Seward.

Staff was nice, and the view is great. But my husband and I had a $100+ bill for food that tastes like it was frozen and had zero salt. We did have a couple of drinks, but the green beans we had here would have had a hard time beating the ones out of our freezer. The one plus was the house salad, which I thought wasn’t too bad. Overall pretty disappointed.

With such a wonderful atmosphere and service I was highly disappointed with my food. They use frozen vegetables and call them “seasonal” and there bed or rice that entrees come with is minute rice. Halibut was over cooked. Overall I was dissatisfied with the high price considering the poor quality of the food.
If you are wanting decent food worth the high price don’t eat here.

The service is great, don’t get me wrong. But the food is just bad. The fish isn’t fresh, the chicken is boiled, and there is no seasoning on the food. Great location and the interior looks nice, but the food is bad. I would feel bad about paying McDonald’s prices for this food.

Chinooks has consistently great food and service. Your whole staff deserves a pat on the back and a raise.

We walked in and the hostess on 8/25/24 was VILE. She had AirPods in and didn’t even say hi, but threw up the number 3 with her hands, I Guess asking if it was just three. Anyways, we said 4 and asked if we could sit near a window if it wasn’t too much to ask. Before I could even finish the sentence she interrupted me and said NO with a soulless look on her face. I’m done with people quick this day and age so we just said Nevermind and left. I don’t give a crap if I sit next to a window or not, it was her whole demeanor and attitude. It SUCKED.

We have been looking forward to having really good crab while in Alaska. Unfortunately the Chinook Restaurant did not deliver at all. The hostess had an attitude that basically said she was bored and could care less if you were there to almost rude. The dungeness crab was severely over cooked and had no flavor at all. The halibut fish and chips were really good. Not greasy and super flavorful. Our server, Susan, was great! I wish I could rate this better because of her, but the crab and the hostess just really made a bad impression on us. We will not be back or recommend to anyone else.
