I highly recommend this place to eat if you are looking for a chefs menu. The food is fantastic, the service is incredible, and the atmosphere was cozy. Shengyn (sp?) was the best.
Went to the other place next door and was told it would be an hour and a half wait. Discouraged, we saw this place next door. We’re on day 8 of our Alaska exploration trip, and Shane at Fifth Ave provided BY FAR the best service. Personalized food recommendations, exceptional attention to detail, and even a few belly laughs all made this dinner extremely memorable.
But the real highlight is the food.. everything we had was incredible. We will be recommending Fifth Ave as THE DINNER SPOT in Seward to all our travel friends.
The food and service were very nice. We were given a great opportunity to teach our son why going to a nicer restaurant every now and then is a lovely treat (“See, you don’t get …. At another restaurant”). Our server made sure we had a great and enjoyable experience and the food was very good as well!
Thank you for the amazing food and great service.
Service was incredible! The food was all made in house and delicious. 5/5 Perfect
Exceeded expectations! I was surprised at how good this place is. The cocktails were excellent. The mushroom pasta was outstanding, I honestly think it's one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had.
The place is small and there aren't many tables, it's inside the hotel. But it was nice and the service was really great. I want that pasta again right now. Highly recommend.
(Was there at the beginning of June 2025.)
Absolutely recommend. Shengyu was a highlight with incredible cocktails and hospitality.
The venue is small and has a turn of the 20th century vibe. The service is attentive. I had the house made fries, baked mushrooms, chowder, and ceaser salad. The food was well prepared. The portions were on the small side with one exception, the salad. I enjoyed everything except the salad.
Hand cut never frozen fries were a hit and we shared them between three people. The baked mushrooms were delightful and nicely plated. For me mushrooms go a long way and the portion was good for 3 people.
The chowder was the star. Not too thick and freshly made with fresh ingredients. The portion is on the small side.
The salad is basic and at $19 it didn’t come close to hitting the mark. Most dinners do not desire, or have the stomach, to consume such an enormous portion of lettuce in a single sitting. The few who do would need a lot more dressing, croutons, and cheese.
Great bar! The gentleman who prepared our drinks was extremely friendly and accommodating. Great place to have cocktails after having dinner at the Cookery.
Food and waiters are top notch.
We had dinner at fifth avenue bistro, on our last night in Alaska, and it was truly special. Shengyu was running a one man show, bartending and waiting on the guests, and was doing a phenomenal job. We were fortunate to get the last bowl of their delicious Chowder. Also had the halibut with yellow curry and the gnocchi, and both were super tasty. Special kudos to the chef. Their cocktails and dessert were great too. Overall, a truly amazing dining experience. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Seward.

This is where my husband and I love to eat dinner together and have a great time. Shengyu treated us so kindly and was such an amazing server. Our experience was amazing and the food was amazing, I definitely recommend getting the steak and halibut main and starter, clam chowder was absolutely amazing. The vibe inside the restaurant was really chill but still fancy as well. The best place to eat in town for sure!

5th Avenue Bistro, a stellar stop for cocktails as well as dinner! We enjoyed award-winning chowder, the beet salad, and entrees included the ribeye, the curry halibut, and chicken with succotash. The cocktails were creative and delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the interaction and timely service from the whole team!

Wow! Shengyu the bartender/ server and Christian the chef are incredible! So talented and hard working! The homemade chips, halibut bites, burger, and pan seared halibut were phenomenal! One of the best meals we’ve had during our month in Alaska. And the handmade creative cocktails were over the top! Thank you guys! You’re awesome!
