If you are in the area stop in for a breakfast burrito, they do takeout also. The burrito was loaded with deliciousness. Yummy

Thankful for a place I could support with my business on a clean conscious (compared to my other 2 stops that morning). Quick service, tasty coffee (though my lid didn’t fit the cup well), and the bagel sandwich was tasty.

The owner let my daughter have a free juice and I started writing a bigger tip at the counter because I appreciated his generosity, but he kept talking and by the time I finished writing, his commentary had moved from Dr. Pepper to Dr. Fauci being bad for the restaurant industry to not knowing why Jill Biden called herself a doctor? Run your shop how you want but good lord that was the most alienating breakfast I've ever had.

Owner was so nice and friendly. Coffee was delicious. Order the biscuits and gravy, you won’t regret it. In walking distance of the docks.

Found this little place first time. We visit Seward often and we tried it. Coffee was ok. Felt like the Soup Nazi of off Seinfeld. Anyway ordered a breakfast sandwich with no cheese, well it came with cheese. I returned it and a few minutes later was refunded, plus 5%. They were busy but thought they might remake it. No they did not. I will not go here again. If you try hope you have better experience. Had to get food at the food truck Caine Head! That will go back to!! Best of luck…

Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich was amazing! Really good breakfast and good prices
Heard the lighthouse was supposed to be good. Went there for breakfast. Got the cinnamon roll and a breakfast biscuit. The cinnamon roll did not seem to have any cinnamon? The biscuit was ok. Overall probably won’t return.

An unassuming cafe from the outside. A great community and some amazing food on the inside. The breakfast burrito and the apple fritter were amazing. My family also really enjoyed the biscuit sandwich and the fried egg sandwich (but I think the burrito is the winner). Everyone, including the patrons, were so kind and talkative. It really made the experience great. Highly recommend stopping here if you come to Seward.

Very sinister vibe in this establishment. The guy up front would not stop spewing these creepy political tirades to every customer that came in.When my friend went there she noted he was also saying some pretty racist things about his own workers. Would not put my money there again. Food was just ok.

The person who was taking orders was very rude. He said he won’t take our order second time because we asked how long it will take to make it.

This is the place to eat breakfast while in Seward! The very few places that are open for breakfast are over priced tourist traps. Not the Lighthouse! They serve a great breakfast at very reasonable prices. The folks at the counter are friendly and helpful. We will come back again!

I've debated about leaving a review for Lighthouse cafe and bakery.
I did a google search, as I typically do for the various town/cities we visit, for sourdough bakery. Lighthouse Bakery came up. Then we walked around Seward and I saw it. The first time we looked in it was busy, two young girls were selling chocolate chip cookies outside and we happily bought two. But I didn't see many pastries and absolute no loaves of read. It was between 10-11 am and I thought that perhaps they were just already out.
Then this morning we visited again for breakfast. As stated in some other reviews the counter man has opinions that he isn't shy about sharing, but I thought that, because I also love Jesus Christ the Lord, there might be some kinship. But there wasn't. He just seemed a bit angry and quite disgruntled. We ordered two breakfasts - both with eggs over easy. The menu indicated that my breakfast came with choice of bread. When I asked about sourdough bread the counter man said that they only have white bread and the indication was that that's the only bread they ever have (and I should be happy with it).
We also requested orange juice, which turned out to be something like Tang orange beverage. When we received our breakfasts (order at the counter then they bring it to you when ready) one was scrambled eggs and the other over easy. Husband said he'd take the scrambled, so we switched the bacon with the reindeer sausage because there was a line at the counter and in some of the reviews it indicates that asking for corrections is greeted caustically.
The cinnamon rolls and other pastries were plentiful at this time of day (about 8:30 am) and we got some to go for breakfasts tomorrow and possibly beyond. They are quite large and the little bits that stuck to the bag when I transferred them to an air tight container were tasty, so I'm hopeful for future meals.
So three stars seems a middling experience.
