I had one of the best meals I’ve ever had and certainly the best in Seward. Can’t say the same about the other four restaurants I visited. They have a new name called the fifth Avenue bistro. I left a review under that name if you want to check it out

Fantastic little place. Emphasis on little. Like four tables and they only seat two at a time, so this is a quiet, intimate place. Elizabeth and Bing are both awesome folks, and seem to really care about what they're doing, which shows through in their food. The food is very very good, and the overall quality and experience is more memorable than anywhere else I've tried yet in Alaska.The one thing I would want to markedly improve is the bar. The booze selection is pretty limited, and I think that having some specialty cocktails on the menu would go a long way to rounding out the experience.

Small venue but elegant and great ambiance. Great wine and food. I was contacted ahead of my reservation to ask about diet restrictions and the chef made me a personalized "no-oil/vegan" meal that was absolutely magnificent! I was pleasantly surprised to find that good of a vegan meal in a seafood town. Hubby had filet and shrimp kabob which he raved about! What a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

We were in Seward for a week and had breakfast at a different place each day. We had no idea what to expect from Mrs. Gene's except it was located in an older small luxury hotel that had been refurbished. It is a hotel of great old character and we entered the bar to get to the outside deck for breakfast. It was a sunny day and the deck was furnished with cheerful umbrella tables and chairs with a view across the way to the harbor and the mountains below capped with snow. The huge window boxes that lined the upstairs deck were well planted with fresh herbs and I got a distinct vibe of Italy's Amalfi Coast. The only other person there was a woman who was local but travels half the year and we had some friendly banter. The waiter was a wonderful character and an excellent server. He looked a bit like a cross between Antonia Bandera and Jack Sparrow and was very amusing. We laughed, had fun, learned some history of Mrs. Gene and had the most delicious traditional American breakfast! Omelettes, pancakes, sausages, juices all prepared and presented beautifully. The ambience there was one of the top places we visited in Seward. You will want to go there on a nice day and sit outside!

Such a cute little Victorian style restaurant. Loved the waitress/sou chef Elle. She’s so sweet. I had the pesto shrimp pasta and it was sooooooo good. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone. Their handmade pasta was delicious!

My wife and I were just looking for a place to get a drink and were immediately charmed by Elizabeth and the quaint little restaurant she runs with her husband. We ended up staying for more than two hours, eating the best meal we had during our entire trip and felt like we were home in our own dining room.First, our cocktails were excellent - Elizabeth makes great drinks while also serving as sous chef, hostess, waitress and bartender. I ordered the surf & turf which was cooked absolutely perfectly and had some of the best shrimp I've ever eaten. My wife got the gorgonzola pasta and literally started crying tears of joy when she tasted the sauce it came with.Elizabeth was friendly, kind and helpful - not just to us but to everyone dining in the restaurant that night.Bing is a great chef and the restaurant/hotel is lucky to have this power couple running the show here!

Our dinner here was excellent. Seating is limited due to this is run by two people (with no additional support staff). You know you are at a good place when you see the chef walk out to the patio, pick some items from the garden, and then return to the kitchen. This is a must visit, especially if you are staying in the hotel.

Fabulous food, cute place and wonderful owners/chiefs. Very intimate with only 4 tables and 4 bar stools. Had a lovely evening and one of our best meals in Alaska. Make sure you try the halibut cheeks.

We stopped in here for breakfast while staying at the hotel. Very tasty eggs, waffles and ham for the table. George, our waiter, was so sweet and attentive, keeping our coffee cups filled and telling us about the history of the place. We had a nice time here and made it out in great time to catch our bus.
