Visited this place in May of 2025 during the shoulder season while vising Skagway with NCL cruises.
I wrote another detailed review giving this place a less than stellar rating and the owner was gracious enough to say 'thank you for leaving a review' but she was right in saying that my review was 'unfair' because I was criticizing the price of the fish and chips for $35 at this location and comparing it to Skagway Fish Company's price of $27 (which was very good BTW, excellent Fish and Chips at Skagway Fish Co), and I agree with the owner Claire B. that I should not have said the food here wasn't as good because, well, I didn't even try it because of the absolute crowds at this location, and what I felt was a disorganized setting with no hostess, no one directing foot traffic into the establishment, and we basically had to fend for ourselves, find our own seats and then go up to the bar, which is OK, I get it, it's very busy, so I am re-vamping my review. I will clarify, we only got beer here, but skipped this place for food because we couldn't even get table service for drinks here, and I did not want to chance a long wait for food, so we went elsewhere and had a better experience for food. Beer here was pretty good and OK; can't say anything for the table service or the food, but this is our experience.
I did order the Spruce Tip Cookie here at SBC for one cookie priced at $5.00 but it was basically a disappointment for one piece of cookie that did not taste that great.

Halibut basket and salmon dip were delicious! We did the beer flight, I don’t really like beer but had to try some of them. Staff was nice. There was a bit of a wait but they move people in efficiently. Lots of tables! Recommend

Came on a very cold and wet day, and I was so glad to find the restaurant warm and cozy with a fireplace going. It’s located on the second floor, with the first floor being a gift shop of some sort.
I originally came for their reindeer sausage or hotdog, but unfortunately they don’t serve it anymore. Instead, I tried their locally made root beer, which was crisp, refreshing, and perfect for the weather. I also had the Philly steak sandwich, which could use a bit more flavor, but the portion size was generous. Everything came out hot and fresh.
The fries were crispy and served piping hot. I paid extra for the truffle seasoning, though the truffle flavor was barely noticeable, and I had to add a bit of salt myself.
Overall, for Alaska prices, I think it’s fair. Service was quick and friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made it a nice spot to warm up and relax.

It's very touristy, I would not go if it weren't the only place open at the time. There's a decent array of beers, food is okay, seating is limited though. When you get off the boat if you want to go there head there first.

Have been a couple of times. Always a good experience, the beers are amazing, the food is good and also the service.
They have a cute store with souvenirs that you can’t miss.
Highly recommended.

It was crazy busy with the entire cruise population descending on the creepy at the same. But our group of 9 got seated well within the alloted wait time. Service was excellent and the fish and chips were absolutely delicious. (Really wished I had gotten a second order!)

The halibut Alfredo is tiny flakes of halibut and the pasta is hard on the ends looks like mush. The bar staff talking about customers. Didn’t feel welcomed

Went while on our cruise. Honestly, the best french fries I've ever had anywhere, they are addictive! I know, weird thing to say for an Alaskan restaurant, but they were amazing! The crab artichoke dip was also Devine! Veryyy cheesy and yummy. Had our first Duck Fart here and it was tasty too. If we ever have the chance to get back to Skagway, we will definitely be returning!!

Great stop for a beer and a bite. Had to try the Spruce tip Blonde, for the vitamin C. A nice light tasting beer. Their salmon dip was out of this world! We ate at the bar side of the brewery. Seating is a bit confusing. Signs on the table that have no service but you can order at the bar, appear to be seat yourself? The hostess seating people would seat someone and disappear. Maybe she was hoping everyone would just go away 🤣, it was the end of the season. The bartenders were awesome. Definitely swing by. The line moves pretty quickly.
