last time we ate there we got food poisoning
The hubby and I went out for a dinner date last night and it was AMAZING!! If I could rate them any higher than a 5 I would. We both got the bacon wrapped filet mignon that was cooked and seasoned to perfection, we also got the delicious and super fresh mashed potatoes, the green beans were cooked just enough and for a treat we got a side of crab legs that were AWESOME!! Overall the whole experience was great the staff was truly great both the hostess and our server were so sweet and attentive. We will most definitely be doing back!
10/10 halibut fish and chips! So so good, a little expensive but well worth it.
After a long day dipnetting on the Kenai, I knew only one thing could restore my energy: steak. And Mykel’s delivered. Their sirloin with whiskey sauce was exactly what I needed—tender, flavorful, and paired beautifully with mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. (Honestly, I’m still thinking about that whiskey sauce.)
To wash it down? A Strawberry Collins that was equal parts refreshing and dangerous—it went down way too easily. My husband chose the scallops in garlic and wild mushroom sauce and declared them “exceptional” (which, for him, is high praise). Major, his service dog, also approved—our booth was spacious and comfy, perfect for his well-earned nap while we dined.
Despite it being a busy summer evening, the waitstaff were absolutely lovely—friendly, attentive, and never rushed.
Bottom line? Mykel’s is no longer a “we should try that place”—it’s an annual Kenai tradition in the making. Or, more realistically, every time we’re in Soldotna.
10/10, would dipnet all day just for an excuse to eat here again.
Service and food are excellent! Would recommend reservations for dinner!!
So good that we went back the next night for dinner too!
Their dinner menu is very small, and ther kids menu,it is obvious from the photo that they used the same oil for frying many times. We did not let them finish the children's menu and went to another restaurant.really bad quality!
The waitress was very good; however the food was marginal at best. The main dishes were lukewarm warm, the baked potato was cool and the appetizers were very marginal. The spinach dip was served ice cold - every restaurant I know serves it warm.
When I received bill they entered a gratuity of 20% and concealed it in the item list and listed in the total payable. The credit card receipt listed that total as amount due and had a line to add a gratuity with suggested amounts. It was obviously an attempt to sneak in a gratuity and then ask for a gratuity based on a total that included a mandatory gratuity.
Additionally, although it did not pertain to me, there is no handicap access to the restroom- the are located in the basement. A member of the group needed such accommodation. There should be a warning at the door advising handicapped persons.
If I could rate it a zero I would.
Over the past 40 years we have always looked forward to a meal at Mykels. We often order, and take it home. The food is always yummy. Unfortunately, tonight’s prime rib was under seasoned and tasted like a poorly prepared roast. Our baked potato was covered in cheese even though we asked for there not to be any. No rolls or bread were included. For the price we paid, it should have been. As always, the service was prompt and the staff was so kind. Sadly, I don’t see myself spending money here again.
Me and my kids had lunch here today and the food was on point! The kids menu items were worth the price (and not unreasonably priced) but the kids cheeseburger was decent sized for a kiddo! And I had the fish and chips and it was very delicious. 10/10 recommend. Waitress was kind and attentive and we got our food very quickly once we ordered! I love the new mykels, I hadn’t been here since like 2012 and my experience then wasn’t great. I’m glad they have improved with the new owner/management. Thank you for the delicious lunch and for kids options that weren’t just store bought and deep fried.

Absolutely delicious food, and amazing service! I ordered 2 lunches because I couldn't decide, and I have zero regrets! I simply had the leftovers for dinner. Halibut fish and chips, and the incredible croissant club sandwich, on a house made croissant!
Breakfast was fantastic this morning. Get the Meat Sampler Plate. You get a little bit of everything.
Enjoyed Tempura Shrimp while enjoying music by Raponi and Merry.

If you are looking for prime rib that is cooked to perfection, meat that is so tender it almost melts in your mouth and wonderful flavor you will find it at Mykel’s. Service, appetizers and drinks were excellent too. This was our first time dining and will definitely not be our last. YUMMY.

Excellent service and food. Fast and tasty. Best coffee and clam chowder in town. Freshed baked sourdough with each meal. To avoid surcharge bring cash.
