While passing through Wasilla on our visit to Alaska, I had the Italian sub (without peppers) and it was absolutely perfect. The bread had a wonderfully flaky outside while staying soft inside, the meats and cheese were fresh and flavorful, and the balance of spices, oil, and vinegar was spot on. Every bite had that classic Italian sub taste done just right. Krazy Moose Subs is a must-stop.

Their subs are usually good, however more recently we have been a bit disappointed. Me and my co workers (there is 4 of us) are gluten free and always get their gluten free wraps which of course they charge you extra for but it’s understandable.

There has been several times in our more recent visits, where they didn’t wrap then very well and made them literally impossible to eat or enjoy, falling apart and everything falling out. However, when they do it right, everything stays together down to the last bite.

The combo of club is our favorite, the rest are okay to mediocre. The biggest dislikes is the avocado on the turkey wrap, which is a guacamole and if is always funky. I’m not a fan of the hot pastrami on a wrap, perhaps it is better in a sub, but it comes out a terrible, almost slimy texture on the gluten free wraps. Besides that most of what is on the menu is decent.

Like I mentioned before, all 4 of us get the gluten free wraps when we go here, even when I take my little ones we get the gluten free wraps, however every time we have gone in lately they have been out of stock. It’s been many, many weeks now. Kind of a waste of the trip there.

The last time we went the gal said they could do a lettuce wrap instead. I said okay, until I saw she was going to charge me 2.99 extra! I pointed it out to my co-works on the screen. I asked about it and she said “yeah, we charge for that!” My co-worker pointed out it was lettuce though. (Even a regular wrap costs more than a few leafs of lettuce) so why charge extra? We declined and went elsewhere, where we have made our new regular Monday, Wednesday, Friday spot.

Thanks for all the wraps in the past anyways Krazy Moose.

ok?! So, I have eaten at this establishment roughly 10 times. My boss is crazy for their Chicken Melts. lol However, my subs are CIONSTANTLY SWIMMING in their sauce after repeatedly requesting nicely, "Do not apply heavy sauce, please just a splash". Hit or miss for sure. Then the staff gets in a rude mood when asked for the splash. I just ordered another sub, let's see how it goes. lol

All the hype is true. It really is a delicious sub. Super good bread and piled high. I ordered a ten inch and definitely did not need to, only ate half! It’s was busy but staff was polite and kept the ordering process moving; when I didn’t order a drink they offered a water cup which I appreciated. Neat historic photos and Alaska decor and ample seating upstairs and down. Would be great to get to-go on your way to an hike or adventure!

Except for the challenge of trying to find a seat when they're busy, everything about Krazy Moose was wonderful!!

I’ve had good experiences in the past for sure, but this most recent visit prompted me to write this:

Ordered a combo for pick up over the phone, specified it was the 20 inch, asked for no ham substitute more turkey, and a cookie.

I walk in, no line whatsoever, and my pick up order was not only almost 40 dollars because they made me two sandwiches? I was in a rush to get back to work so I just took it, I’ll just eat sandwiches for the next couple days.

They charged me for extra meat (4 dollars) to substitute the ham for turkey, and I get home, and open my sandwich to find It’s over half ham. Now I can’t eat either sandwiches and I’m out $40. Like I’ve said though, they’re a good local joint, worth trying, but the past couple times and this time left me sour.

i have been coming here since i was a kid. the BEST bread in the world — the BEST sandwiches in the world!!! i usually get the turkey club. their dressing on the veggies is a perfect ratio and you can get 4 servings of sandwich out of their large. exceptional the next day even, the bread holds up!! i was home for a couple weeks and absolutely had to bring my partner here and he agreed that the sandwiches here are an institution.

Visited late August 2024. Got a full size 10" sub and two bottled drinks. With tip the total was just under $20. Staff were friendly, food was delicious, atmosphere was casual. I found their 10" sub to be just as filling as a Subway footlong but the Krazy Moose sub tasted much better. If I lived near this place I would eat there often.
