Amazing local Mexican restaurant! My wife and mother in law were born and raised in Tucson AZ and are pretty hard critics for authentic Mexican food, especially in Alaska where according to them, is usually sub-par. That’s not the case for them with Mr Taco and they both love the food. I just recently had their food and truly enjoyed it and appreciate the level of care and service they provide. We had ordered through DoorDash and even though it was just an online order, they left a note attached to the food apologizing for being out of the Mexican coke I had ordered, and substituted with two cans which I thought was meaningful rather than just substituting the item or having the doordasher explain it. We need more local restaurants like this in Wasilla.

I’m very disappointed with my experience. When I arrived, no one was at the register and I waited for quite some time without being helped After a while, a young woman came out from the back along with a man holding a beer bottle and wearing sunglasses inside the restaurant. This felt unprofessional and left a bad impression. I hope management improves attentiveness and customer service

“My family and I were just passing through Wasilla and decided to stop at Mr. Taco, and it turned out to be a great experience. Where we live, we don’t have Mexican food this good, so this was a really nice surprise.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everyone in my family enjoyed their meal. I even asked to speak with the cook, just to personally say thank you. He treated us very well and kindly introduced himself as Mike, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming.
We enjoyed it so much that before leaving, we decided to buy a Mr. Taco gift card so we could come back again and also share it with someone else. I highly recommend Mr. Taco to anyone visiting or living in Wasilla who is looking for great Mexican food.”

My wife and I took our girls here for dinner and were blown away. The food is house made, fresh salsa, real guacamole, fantastic tortillas. None of the canned refried beans and boxed Spanish rice filling the void on a lifeless plate. For all of us that have suffered for years at Chepos, this is a night and day experience. Great portions, very reasonable prices, and friendly staff. I can’t speak high enough of this restaurant. We had the fajita quesadilla, fajita taco, and deluxe burrito. We ordered flan for dessert which was amazing, and also made in house.

I say this as a South Texas Mexican who didn’t expect much from a Taqueria in Alaska (sorry Wasillites); the tacos I had were fantastic! Great flavor in every bite and every bit authentic. Highly recommend and will likely come back before I leave Alaska.
