Verda of Verda's Cakes and Things is so much more talented than what I would ever expect to find in Alaska. Not only is the custom Sasquatch / Big Foot cake she made for our Podiatry clinic the most outrageously beautiful thing to look at; it tastes just as great! It would be totally unbelievable, if I hadn't just seen and tasted it for myself. I hope this is the first of many great cakes I plan to order for approaching events! Thank you, Verda! Verda, just tasted a Carrot Cake that you made. It was the best tasting cake I’ve ever had. I love Carrot cake, but it is sometimes very rich. Your cake was perfect. It was delicious. Every bite I took, I savored with a moan. You’re my “go to cake-maker now”.

I am two month's late in leaving my review showing my appreciation to Verda for saving the day! We were almost to Hatcher's Pass when we got word that the wedding cake that was preordered in Anchorage did not get made. We pulled over, Googled "nearest bakery" and found ourselves at Verda's Cakes & Things. Of course, she did not have a wedding cake just sitting there waiting for us, but when we explained our predicament and that we only had minutes before we had to continue on, she said "Yes, I can do this for you! Give me 15 minutes." And she did. It was a busy Saturday with customers coming in for their preordered cakes, but she took the time to decorate a beautiful wedding cake for my son and daughter-in-law and it was delicious. When we saw you didn't have predone cakes, we were just going to head out without a cake, but it was you who said, no, you could do this. 2020 has been a challenging year in many ways, but you made a special day even more memorable. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

If you want a really unique and specially made with the best flavors this lady will make you the best cake I assume she makes other great things other than cake but that's what I ordered. She made me a great tasting pumpkin roll with cream cheese frosting. Thank you verta's cakes and things!

The most wonderful blueberry pie (aside from our homestead blueberry patch, but almost equaling it) we have ever tasted. This combo pie was actually cherry 1/3 without mixing with the blueberry! How did you Do that??

We ordered a birthday cake for our daughters Halloween themed birthday party and she delivered. The cake she made was exactly what we wanted and not only did it look good but the cake was moist, fluffy and tasty. The price for the cake was also fair and reasonable.
