Just finished my meal here, one of us got ribs, the others got pulled pork. None of it was like a run of the mill southern BBQ place, it all seemed to have its own distinct recipe apart from what you'd normally find.The ribs had a distinct smoky flavor, and call me crazy but it almost had a coconutty flavor that I personally loved. The sauces were also very good and not just standard syrupy sweet sauce.Ps for anyone looking online, the prices in store as of 2024 are cheaper...
No other Brunswick stew will do !! When it’s “in season” (only avail in fall and winter) SHBBQ’s stew is the ONLY place to go !! My goodness ! Their stew is just the right spicy mixed with succulent pork/turkey (your choice); savory potatoes and country veggies !! IT IS fantastic !! The only thing about winter in Alabama I look forward to is Southern Hickory BBQ’s Brunswick Stew !! =))Cullman, Hartselle and Arab locations ! All are great and have the nicest people that...

But the pulled turkey sandwich, I may be a convert to those being the better sandwich. Obviously turkey will be more dry, but theirs was still beautifully juicy and soft. It somehow is shredded into the perfect sized pieces and still holds moisture and flavor accentuated by that awesome slaw.
