Soul-food plates that feel like someone’s grandma is secretly running the kitchen. My fried catfish was flaky with a light, crunchy crust, and the yams were borderline dessert. Super friendly staff, cozy space, and portions that make you pause before committing — in a good way.

This review is solely based on our personal experience with this restaurant. Upon visiting Alabama from out of town and reading mostly good reviews about this restaurant we decided to give them a try. Sadly after driving more than 30 minutes from our Airbnb and arriving there around 3:40 p.m. to see a notice in the drive thru window stating they'd be back @ 4:00 p.m. we decided to wait realizing that good restaurants are very hard to come by in different cities in Alabama 😶. As we're hungry, waiting, and anticipating what may have been a great experience and good food fell short. The clock is ticking away while we're waiting until 4:00, and a guy comes speeding into the parking lot looking at us as he's driving to the back of the building and does not bother to inform us (the customers) about what's going on. We continued to patiently wait a few minutes more and when we noticed that the sign had not been removed we decided to call in, finally a man answered and said they were closed (Wednesday, November.19,2025) because they were doing catering on that day. Like what!!! Why didn't they update the google website to say they were closed on Wednesday to save every person who showed up their time, gas, and hungry appetite 🤨🙄? Please think about your customers and give proper notice going forward so that people will not waste their time!!!! Ugh. Lastly, please be informed that everyone does not have social media IF... by chance it was posted on there.

First time eating here was looking forward to it but 2 egg rolls for 8$ that were pretty mid and I was really craving catfish but these had practically no flavor the fries were just as bad its like they came out of a bag from Walmart they were undercooked and just bland I was really looking forward to it

Great food, meat & 3 classics, the Double Cajun Ranch burger is a local legend. Great fish & wings, fruity teas and lemonades. Dessert must be good too they sell out the good stuff quick. A must try in Athens
I got a golden eagles burger with fries and a diet drink. The price was very cheap for 1 meal. I also loved their food it was phenomenal. Very good food and location for a small business. Staff was very friendly. Overall best experience yet.

The catfish was so delicious, the okra was everything, the portion sizes were more than enough !! The customer service was definitely a 10/10!! this was our first time visiting this restaurant about two weeks ago and we absolutely loved everything about it. We weren’t able to sit outside on this day because of the humidity and a few bugs flying around, but we will definitely be returning. It is definitely a must try if you like catfish, wings, okra, greens, macaroni and cheese, good iced tea, good passionfruit tea !!everything about this place needs to be on a map

It would be nice if they’d answer their phone so you can verify they have a menu item before driving way up there just to be told no. It’s not convenient and doesn’t make a good customer experience. If the phone isn’t the best point of contact, provide what is. I like their desserts but I need to check for availability because I get conflicting information and don’t live anywhere near the restaurant to drive and leave without a purchase.

The food is awesome and reasonably priced! I've tried nearly all of their hamburgers, but today I tried the Philly! So good! Adding it to my favorites! Can't end this without mentioning the owners! Very nice people! Highly recommend this place!
