Touchdown Wings

I would not recommend the fish and I'm not certain what the thick, yellow stuff in the cup that's served with it actually is but it's not tartar sauce which we generally like in the South.

Fave wing spot in Athens!

So I used to come here about a year ago and I always got the wings, but since I was back in the area, I had a taste for fish. I ordered their seven piece catfish coleslaw hush puppies and fries for about $17.

It was wonderful . Very hot well season and I was pleasantly surprised more food than I can eat. You can get great fish at a chicken wing place.!!

The wings were not seasoned. I ordered parmesan garlic and sweet and sour. They looked like the sauce was just watered down with no flavor that stuck to any of them. The wait time is ridiculous. If you don't order ahead and you still have to wait in the drive-thru. They don't even ask people to pull around. They just let them sit there.

Value for the money.

Touchdown Wings is probably my favorite. The variety is unbelievable. I had to travel to South Carolina unexpectedly, dad had me pick up dinner and what was I glad he picked touchdown wings. After driving all day it was a relief to have something amazing to eat. They are very very busy when I got there, it seemed a little disorganized. But they were getting the orders out in a steady fashion and customers seem to be okay with the wait.

The wings were SO good. My only complaint is that the website vs the Athens location did have the same sauces. Athens had far less than what was advertised. They also don't mention on the site (from what I saw) that they don't serve sandwiches on Sundays.

Recommended dishes: Lemon Pepper Wings

We placed a order for 50ish wings on 8/3/24 for a going away party. My husband picked them up, tied them up in the bag and placed them in the microwave for the party later that day. Order was placed around 1 or 2 and party was later around 5 so of course we know they wont be fresh but we have done this plenty of times before so all was good. My husband never checked the wings which was the first mistake but when i opened them i could not tell which was supposed to be buffalo lemon pepper as we have dined in MANY times and i know what buffalo lemon pepper is supposed to look like. Even after having leftovers sit for awhile, lemon pepper is VISIBLE on wings. The 20 "buffalo lemon pepper" had NOTHING on them. So cool my husband calls and they tell us that if we have most of them left to bring them back which we do. We get to the window and get given packs of lemon pepper to add ourselves. Noone even looks at the wings we were asked to bring back. Attitudes were awful including a 17 year old who shut the window in my face but i was not speaking with her at first so why she was sent to finish a conversation i was having with an adult in the first place is crazy. i went inside because at this point i do not like how this was handled. when my husband called he had no attitude whatsoever and if it was explained that all we would be given was lemon pepper to add ourselves we would have never went up there. I ask for the managers number and they dont feel comfortable giving it to me which is laughable. these restaurants are quick to label customers as "rude" and people are quick to assume an irate customer is doing too much but i never complain. 50 wings are expensive and i went with touchdown wings over zaxbys and i just wanted what i paid for but was told "i aint doing nothing about an order placed at 2 o'clock". We recommend this place to EVERYONE and go as a family of 7 often to eat whether inside or takeout we choose this place alot. never again. customer service was awful. could have been handled much better and i think the actual owners would have handled this much better had they seen the wings we were served. first 2 pictures are legit what was supposed to have been buffalo lemon pepper wings. No lemon pepper whatsoever on those. i even zoomed in to show NO SEASONING. 3rd photo is the regular buffalo. Last picture is after we added the lemon pepper they gave us at the window. how the wings should have looked regardless of if we picked them up at 2 or 7 the seasoning has ALWAYS been visible. So whatever manager they called "mandy" i was told or whatever her name is, your employees handled this very wrong. ive never been served wings as bad as these were from yalls restaurant EVER. Your employees should have never told us to bring back anything that they didnt even have any intentions on taking a look at. And if you witnessed this, i apologize and yes i was upset after going inside because this was handled horribly from the moment we got to the drive thru window.
