My wife and I went here to eat dinner and heard it was a great place. We made a reservation and we attempted to check in two minutes early and the hostess would not seat us, she made us step back and wait outside. Then, she checked in a group of about 8 people who arrived after us and by the time she seated them we were not taken to our seat until about 6 minutes past our reservation. I have no problem waiting but the principal of this irritated me, while she was not very friendly either. What made it funny was the table she sat us at was open the entire time. Once we were seated the service was good, the food tasted good but the portion was very small for what we paid. I won't be returning. To me it is not worth my time and money. I probably would have had a much better experience had the hostess not been so rude.

The food was decent and there was nothing inherently wrong with it, however it's a bit pretentious, and for the price point, all I can say is that there is better food in town elsewhere. I don't have a problem paying this price for great food. This was simply good, not great, and therin lies my grievance

It’s NYE 2025. Arrived 7:30 left 10p. Took a while for food to arrive . The duck was good. The tenderloin was delicious. I didn’t care for any of the desserts. Limited selection. I don’t like chocolate, pb or bread pudding. My friends ordered it.. Super sweet. The chocolate cake was very dense not moist. The bread pudding was loaded with sugar !

Another great experience - dinner this time vs lunch previously. Acre has a nice little holiday cocktail menu- drinks including mulled wine, 'holiday old fashioned' and also a holiday Vesper- something for everyone! Always get AND enjoy the starters-lacquered cornbread, and the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and crab meat. Caesar salad- dressing is nicely flavored and the add-on grilled shrimp were cooked perfectly- still that bite to them. One of our party chose each of the veg as a meal- sweet potato, collard greens with a savory tomato 'pot liquor' and the golden beets which were over a whipped feta. A couple shared the halibut with potatoes entree, a nice crispy skin. Sadly no room for dessert this time, but no worries we'll be back!

Fabulous!!! They were booked for dinner but we were seated for full-service at the bar. Tried the duck and beef tenderloin entrees - both were amazing. The Smoked Old Fashioned with Old Forester was the best I've had! 5-Stars all around!!!
