The bartender Hannah was so rude to me and my friends...would not recommend coming here if she's still here. everyone there but hannah is great staff. if Hannah's working don't go.

I've never been to a bar that has only a glass storefront door and side lite at street level because the establishment is basically 100% on the second floor (and a long, tall flight of stairs up). Once upstairs and inside, the proportions of the room, the dark finishes and the dark lighting create an intimate setting, and for some serious cocktails. Really feels serene and like an escape once inside. Easy to lose track of time too (in a good way!).

Went there last night for an event they had to support CARE Humane Society. The atmosphere is great! The staff and drinks were top notch! Had a great time the previous times we've been there. Would recommend if you are looking for a more laid back atmosphere even when they are busy.

I am a frequent customer at Avondale and Ted the bartender is one the worst bar tenders l've ever encountered. Very rude and terrible customer service. I tried to be considerate and give him grace but I have had 3 bad encounters with him.. I just hope this issue can be resolved. I really do enjoy this place but I would like some decent service.

I have always had a good time in Avondale, but tonight I had a horrible experience. While standing around the bar waiting to order in a group with friends, I was singled out by a female bartender yelling and demanding to see my ID before I even got to the front to order. I was the only one asked, but I gladly handed it to her despite the snarky tone. She then told me she was unable to accept it, to which I responded that it was my real and only ID. I would have been willing to provide her with more information to confirm my age, but rather than trying to have a conversation, she turned around ignored me. She made a scene by yelling at my friends and me and drew lots of attention from other customers who agreed that the situation was unnecessary. I have never had a problem when asked to see my ID in the past, but this experience has me considering never returning.

Ever since Avondale opened up it's one of my go to spots in Auburn when I am back in town. They typically have a good selection of local/regional beers and their cocktails are great too. It's nice that it's centrally located but since it's upstairs you get a little more cozy of a feel. Lots of space for clandestine meetings or just hanging with friends and really good vibes too.

Wouldn’t normally leave a review on a local bar that I have been going to for 10 years, but the treatment my friend and I received last night was not okay. After spending 30 minutes watching the bartenders serve their friends and ignore us and other patrons, my friend finally got one of the bartenders attention. After she told him we have been waiting for 30 minutes to get a menu, the bartender replied, “good for you”. After my friend told him that was impolite, he told her they were understaffed. Understaffed is understandable, but being blatantly rude and ignoring patrons is not okay. If the bartenders would have just quickly come by said, “I’m sorry, we’re short staffed”, or just passed us a menu, it would have been completely fine. I really wish that they would have explained they were short staffed instead of being rude to people who just wanted to buy drinks.
