There is a reason that the only place you can get a last minute brunch reservation on a football game weekend is The Depot. This place has gone downhill. Looks like reviews in the past were great; not so much anymore. After a bad first experience a few weeks before, we decided to give it a second try. Made a reservation several days ahead of time. 30 minutes before the reservation, received a text message from The Depot advising that they are busy and we needed to eat and leave. Can’t say I’ve ever received a message like that from a restaurant before. Showed up and they were half empty. Same when we left. No line with over half the tables open. Had the food been good, I could have skipped the negative review but we were burned for the second time in a row with cold food and the wrong orders. Ice cold. Like they never even cooked it. The “service charge” in the bill for a party of 3 was another unexpected surprise. Can’t recommend. This place has severely degraded.
We went during a fireball game. Tried to order an appetizer when we arrived and were told we had to order all items at same time. We went along with the weird request with an empty restaurant and the food took a very long time to arrives. We like this restaurant but it was a huge miss. The manager was present and never stopped by to check on us. Unfortunately they missed the mark!

Fantastic food, service, drinks and atmosphere! From the moment we walked in everyone was friendly, professional and on point. The manager checked on our table a couple of times and the staff was so attentive. Highly recommended

Always a wonderful dining experience. Love the oysters, seafood items change depending on availability and always impressed with the way it is prepared. Another favorite is Tapas Tuesdays ... three different choices, always different and they are GREAT!! Often a whole meal for me. Best of all, the staff make you feel like they are happy you came. Truly a local gem.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner after a football game. We did not choose any appetizers but they all looked really good as well as multiple oyster offerings. They had 3 special dinners featured. Three out of four chose the grouper dinner which was fried grouper pieces on a mound of mashed Yukon potatoes. I chose the fresh snapper which came with a bacon and shaved Brussels risotto. There was also a shiitake balsamic reduction with a swirl of a ginger carrot puree. I not a big ginger fan so I left it alone. I don’t thin the snapper needed it but visually it was a beautiful presentation and of course some may like that better than I but the dish was overall very yummy. It was one of our groups birthday so she was comped with a dessert. She chose the bananas foster crème brûlée bread pudding. Who could resist that combination? Hubby chose for us the triple chocolate espresso pots de creme. It was very decadent. I should have taken a picture of my friends plate. It looked like she wiped it with a crust of bread as her plate was completely clean. A good sign for a review I think. Jacob was our server. He was very attentive and even took a photo for us

We were coming into Auburn for a concert and researched restaurants in the area. We settled on The Depot and are glad we did. We had the Pork Osso Buco and the Wagu Strip. The pork was excellent and the steak was fantastic. Thomas, our server, did a great job. Between the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere it was a great evening.

Went here for the first time, on my very first bite there was a bone in the grouper. It pierced the top of my mouth. The waiter took the bone away and said this has never happened in 10 years at this restaurant. They only took 25% off the meal. Food tasted okay. Waiter asked us if we needed anything approximately every 10 mins which was a bit too much. Will probably not be back. Disappointing experience for one of the supposedly best restaurants in Auburn.

What a great restaurant. The renovation of the old train depot is wonderful. The service was great, even with a trainee helping. Menu choices were diverse and food was great. We will plan to return on our next trip to Auburn.

Though I am picky when it comes to steaks. I can honestly say, the NY strip here, IS the best steak in Auburn. The marbling and flavor was top notch. I will be back.

We visited while in town for a power co-op conference and had an outstanding experience. Even during a busy dinner rush, our server Christian provided amazing service—he was attentive, friendly, and had excellent recommendations. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly, and both of our meals were incredible. I had the Mediterranean seafood pot (a special that night) which was fantastic, and my husband’s steak was perfectly cooked. From the ambiance to the meal to the service, everything was over the top and absolutely amazing!
