This place is 10000000/10 in Auburn! My cousin told me about it and we drove down from Montgomery. The owner is soo nice and is always checking in on each of us making sure we were enjoying our food! Did i mention I’ve driven down 3 days in a row for the food! It’s hot and fresh! They have different menus daily! Great food!

This may be our new favorite restaurant in Auburn! It’s so good I considered having my mail forwarded there. (yes, we’ve eaten there multiple days in a row). Our favorite is the buffalo chicken Bao. The crack chicken and spicy pork are also amazing. The chicken skewers are great. the shrimp and the cauliflower bowls are also great. Everything is great! menu changes daily so you’ll probably have to go several days in a row, too! You won’t be disappointed!

A few doors down from Toomers Corner, this location is an easy walk from campus. There was only 1 bao entry on the menu as a daily special. Instead we got chicken skewers and chicken fried rice and a side salad.

Not a huge fan of the rotating menu but I've had different menu items throughout the past few weeks and it has all been top notch! The buffalo chicken Fried Bao was my favorite as well as the Crack chicken Steamed bao. If you come here make sure to get the Sauce, it rounds out the whole meal.

You can’t come to Auburn without popping into the Irritable Bao. Delicious food in a welcoming environment is a win! My personal favorite is the dumplings, but the menu changes daily so be sure to check out their social media to see what’s available each day. Whitley has created a true gem for our area!

Oh wow—I finally tried it! I've visited my niece in Auburn a few times, and she kept raving about this place, but I never gave it a shot... until today. We ordered a bit of everything for lunch, and let me tell you—it blew me away. I had the Inside Out Grilled Cheese Brisket Bun, and it was absolutely delicious. Truly amazing! I'm already begging them to open a location in Colorado—I would gladly invest!

The Irritable Bao is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the energy is vibrant, the staff is welcoming, and the food—wow, the food is next level. Every bao is a flavor explosion—perfectly steamed, generously filled, and made with obvious care and creativity. The rotating menu keeps things exciting, and they’re never afraid to experiment with bold, global flavors. From the traditional Bao, themed Bao, or even Chinese street food you will not be disappointed.
What really sets Irritable Bao apart, though, is the heart behind the business. You can tell the owners are passionate about what they do and about giving back to the community. It’s more than a restaurant—it’s an experience, and one you’ll want to come back to again and again.
Highly recommend to anyone in Auburn who loves incredible food, great vibes, and supporting local businesses that genuinely care.
