James and the team were awesome! We visited on 1/17 to celebrate my son’s six birthday. James went above and beyond to make my son and friends feel special and celebrated. He event invited my son to watch him from the bar while he put together his birthday cake milkshake. Thank you, James.

Our robotics team visited the Mason Jar. The servers in the party room were great. However, the manager was extremely rude and told one of our parents that she had to leave if she didn’t have other people with her when their was plenty of open tables. We were a group of 40 who looked forward to visiting the Mason Jar each year during the competition at Auburn. We will find another place to eat and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone else. Additionally, all of the milkshakes had to be made in to go cups because they ran out of Mason Jars.

We have made it a tradition to eat here each year that my schools team comes to town for a competition. We brought over 50 people this year (all families with parents and children) to continue the tradition and filled up the back room and several table in the main room as well. Because we ran out of space, one couple went and sat down at a 4 person table. The husband was talking with some of us at another table when an older gentleman (owner? manager?) came up to the lady sitting beside herself and told her that if she couldn't fill the table she needed to leave. She told him her husband was coming to sit with her and he he said, "Well if you can't fill the table you have to leave." This same man was rude to another one of the moms in my group. She wanted to help to two girls out that were serving us and went up to this man and asked if she could get some silverware to pass out at the tables. He snapped at her and say, "you'll just have to wait for it!" This place should be ashamed of itself. We brought a lot of business, were a group of families, and two open seats at a table gets you kicked out. Because of this greed and complete lack of decency, I can promise that not a single member of our team will ever eat here again. I will say that the two young ladies who served us were very sweet and did a great job.

My family, 10 of us are currently eating here. The food is good but a pansy manager can ruin a good thing. They have a milk shake bar with all the fixings. My grandson asked for an ice cream sandwich which is one of the toppings. Our sweet waitress went to get it but returned to tell us that she could not give him one. I inquired to why & she said that her manager would not allow it. That disturbed us. We asked to see the manager but he has yet to come out. Our waitress returned with an ice cream sandwich. We did not ask for it to be given to us. We intended to pay for it. However, the manager was going to charge us the price of a loaded milk shake for the ice cream sandwich. So we then got a milk shake minus the toppings.

During our stay in Auburn, Hubby and I were en route to a different restaurant when we happened to pass the Mason Jar and veered back to check it out. The building has such an inviting homey ambiance, with interesting antiquities in the yard and the foyer. Upon entering the dining room, I was delighted to discover red checkered tablecloths, wood paneling, and ceiling tiles covered with children's art. The Milkshake Bar has a snowy Christmas village on display year round. I wanted something healthy for dinner and was very pleased to find the southern nutty salad with fresh blueberries, strawberries and candied nuts on a bed of mixed greens and a side of raspberry vinaigrette dressing, all topped with seasoned grilled chicken. The salad was enormous (I took half of it with me in a doggy bag), fresh and just delicious, not to mention reasonably priced at $12.89. Hubby ordered the chicken tenders with sweet potato fries and lima beans for $13.89. He said the food was good enough, especially the Mason Jar's special honey mustard dip. We also ordered a hot peach cobbler for dessert and were astonished at the size of it - more than enough for two people and priced at $3.75, barely half of what we pay for dessert anywhere else. We ended up taking leftover cobbler back to our hotel. Service was delightful, and Alexis was very attentive. The restaurant wasn't busy yet before 5:00, so we didn't wait long for our meals to arrive. The only issues we encountered was no decaf coffee available with dinner, and the milkshake station was closed due to a staffing shortage. We'd stop in again if we returned to Auburn.

We'll need to come back a little bit earlier as we got there within the hour before closing, which may have affected the quality of the food we got. Everything tasted good, but I think things sat under the heat lamp a little longer than usual as my loaded baked potato no longer had any butter, but was rather sitting in a pool of melted butter, and my son's steak ended up being over the temperature ordered. Cute restaurant, very friendly staff, and definitely worth coming back for another try.

We were greeted at the door quickly and friendly as we were seated. Our server Marissa was great. She was very patient as she took our oder and was open to checking on some of our requests for our order. She asked if we had any food allergies which was appreciated, because we do. The fried chicken livers were real good I asked they don't be cooked to hard. I added ketchup, but you don't have to add it to yours. The fried green tomatoes were cooked to golden brown and taste good. The sides were OK needed more seasoning for us. The strawberry cheesecake milkshake we got to go. Yes all of that would have been on top of the glass if we didn't take it to go. Make sure you ask for Marissa.

We were seated right away. It was such a great atmosphere & everyone was super friendly. I was amazed at how fast the food arrived. The chopped steak was excellent! We will definitely be back!!!

Food was good . First time there and we were disappointed that they weren't doing the milkshakes we heard so much about but we understand that they are low staff. Maybe we will try again one day.

We are in town for a swim competition, and we picked this place due to the home cooking and “advertised” milkshakes (that are supposed to compare to those sold at The Yard). Upon arriving, we were greeted with a sign on the door stating that “due to short staff, milkshakes are no longer being offered at this time.” Our two kids were bummed about this, but it doesn’t seem like something the current staff can help. Our food was good (chopped steak, chicken and dumplings, Catalina chicken), and the cornbread fritters are decent … if you can get them to bring you some butter.Staffing is very low here. Be ready to wait, and don’t plan to order any milkshakes.

We went to the Mason jar to celebrate good news received today. It was our 1st trip there and we were very very pleased with our Experience. And it was an experience. We just went for milkshakes and ordered 2 of the specialty ones just to see what they were about. Wow. If you're in the area you've got to try it.

I work close by and used to go to Mason Jar on a regular basis. They had a very friendly staff and never an issue. In the past six months the portions have been shrinking and the friendly staff are all gone. Today I ordered dark meat baked chicken and two vegetables with tea. $11.03 total. What I got was a leg and thigh that maybe weighed 3-4 oz combined. when I complained to the cashier she asked the lady who served ne and she barked, yea I'll give him more chicken but it will cost him. The entire meal probably cost them $ 1 or $2 in ingredients. Need I say, a regular customer no more. DONE! If you are hungry there are other options near by where you will actually get your money's worth.
