Pretty laid back. Like being able to pour as much as you want. Nice variety of beer, but would've like a couple more dark beers. The Icelandic Lager was a good surprise. Food was great.

Only in Auburn one night, read great things about The Plains, showed up...and they were CLOSED for a special event all evening.Really, owners? You couldn't post a special "We're closed on 3/22 for a special event" message to your damn website rather than making people show up on your doorstep to read it pasted to your door??Even if we came back through this town, wouldn't ever try to go back. Suggest trying Auburn Draft House instead...THEY had an awesome draft list AND were open.UPDATE (to response): Gee, thanks for the tip on how to use social media! Are you familiar with how your business appears in Google's search engine? If you were, you'd have your Insta and Facebook accounts posted prominently alongside your website URL on your search listing, so that ALL visitors can quickly find ALL of those timely alerts posted "weeks" in advance.

This is a live review, sitting in the lobby as I write this so I haven’t even finished my experience here and I’m ready to brag. The food here is TOP TIER. Chef’s kiss. Beer is easy to pour and lots of options. Great for family’s and kids. Come here now.

Great spot downtown to try a wide variety of beers. Taco Tuesday lured us in, and we really enjoyed the place. The service is great and the tacos were delicious. Very unique flavor and they were really large and satisfying. They even had an amazing float in the Mardi Gras parade Saturday. Come check out the plains taproom!

I enjoyed getting to sample several kinds of beers and not having to wait to get the attention of a bar tender. The environment is casual with a lot of space for hanging out or playing board games.

Most underrated place in Auburn - great selection of beer and some wines/ciders for people who don't like beer but the best part is the food. Grilled cheese dippers and wagu bacon burger are fantastic

You MUST GO. Great beers! Outstanding selection. Good & cold. Pour yourself! And the food? WOW. Highly recommend the Bacon & Jalapeño Tater Kegs. They are to die for! Very friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely be back.

We had a really good time here. Totally different from the average bar scene in this college town. Self pour is super convenient since you’re not waiting in line at a bar to get a drink. And you can try everything, all 40 taps. You only pay per ounce and get to try a bunch of new brews (and cocktails and wine). We ordered a variety of menu items and enjoyed them all. Portions were large enough to share among our group. I think they have been open less than a year and, for now they are a hidden gem so close to the stadium. I know we will definitely visit again!

Great vibe here. Something for everyone. We tried the grilled cheese dippers, jalapeño tater kegs, pretzel bites and chicken tenders. All were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. A kids menu is also available. There are games you can bring to your table to play with your group, which we found to be a lot of fun. The self pour system was a great break from the norm, as you weren't standing at a bar waiting your turn to catch a bartender's attention just to quench your thirst. Music was loud enough to hear but not so loud that you couldn't talk to others. We had an awesome time and will be back. For sure! Auburn needed this. Well done.

Love the self-pour concept and the excellent beer selection! Wine options for the beer snobs. High-end pub food like these Wagyu sliders to boot! Check these folks out!

My companion wanted to try this newer restaurant in Auburn. I've been to similar establishments in other cities. In short, you link your credit card to a "beer card" used to pour your own drinks. They have about 40 different beers, ciders and wines on tap. You put the "beer card" on the reader, and it allows you to pour as much or little of whichever selected beverage you want. You are only charged for the amount you take. It is wonderful if you are a beer hound and want to try a lot of different things because you can pour as little as an ounce or as much as a full glass. We came for dinner, and that may have not been the best choice. I noted the smaller menu, but we decided to go anyway. My companion ordered the garlic, Parmesan chicken wings and I ordered the Wagyu sliders. We split the tater kegs. My companion noted that the wings were OK, but a little more peppery than she liked. The dipping sauce was adequate. The tater kegs were more interesting and were essentially a melange of potato, cheese, onions and spices and then deep fried. It looked like a super large tater tot. It was the best thing on the menu that we tried. The Wagyu sliders were adequate, but the sweet pickle overpowered the beef flavor. I was disappointed. As noted above, it is a self-serve restaurant, so there's not a lot to remark about the service. I did find that the contactless menu and payment system unique but it created two separate tabs. One for the food and then a second one for the drinks. I was not a fan of that. I was also not a fan of the cost as our three appetizers ran over $40. The drinks we had were about $30. Since this is a college town, I'm not sure these prices will be sustainable. I will also note that the restaurant was very loud. It may have been due to some rather loud children that were there with their parents, but I'm not sure that was all of it. I did not find the quality of food to be worth it and maybe it is the business owners' decision to make the food an afterthought and focus on the draft beer, cider and wine.
