Very nice place; when I was a kidlet (‘60s) the building was a “hippie store”…Mother’s description to me, an elementary-aged child. I also remember Jack Bailey’s Standard Oil station was next door on the corner!
I would rate this place a 5/5, but one of the staff was quite unpleasant when she instructed my wife that she wasn’t allowed to eat a muffin she had brought for herself. This came right after we paid for our drinks and tipped. It fell like a slap in the face.
I would love to make a place like Well Red a home away from home, but one major obstacle to that is actually feeling welcome and at home. I’m happy to be a paying customer, but we felt disrespected by this.
