I drive an 18 wheeler. Parked on the shoulder of hwy 14 just past the restaurant. Plenty of room to park (((temporarily))) while I ordered my food. Was a Saturday. Which is significant because they have a limited menu on Saturday. Anything fried or grilled. No yams or other veggies that need preparation. Though, any other day, they have a veggie plate for less than $8.00.Had the fried chicken, fried okra and homemade potato salad. Took time because they make it when you order it on Saturday. But it’s worth the wait! Hot and fresh! The very nice lady explained that Saturday’s are their slowest day. So, instead of preparing lots of food before hand, they cook to order on Saturday. That way they aren’t throwing away lots of food. Hence why they don’t have a full menu on Saturday. Would like to see them become so busy on Saturday that they have to treat it like a Sunday. She explained that Sunday is their biggest day. Probably after church lets out is my guess… Reference the pictures of the menus.I never had Ox tail before, so hopefully I will be able to drive by there on a Sunday to try it one day. This isn’t a fancy restaurant but is welcoming! Stark in a picnic type of way. My meal cost $10.50. It includes a drink. Not bad prices these days!People were stopping by when I was there, just for the company. Also seemed to be many regulars walking in. ( She knew what they wanted as they walked in ) wasn’t phoned in beforehand. Guy walks in, before he said anything, she informed him that there aren’t any grits left. He said, I’ll just come back tomorrow, and walked back out… lol It was lunchtime… lolPoint, this is a place truckers can access for a good meal TO GO! This is truly hometown cooking and is good food. Unless you enjoy eating at subway three times a week… Treat them nicely and they will absolutely treat you the same.I will be coming back here when I’m coming through this area. Leave a tip even if you just leave with takeout Truckers! This place needs to become a staple and it goes a long distance with customer service if you let them know they are appreciated. Two dollars isn’t going to kill you! Lol

Kid-friendliness: This is a neighborhood restaurant. People just dropped by for the company when I was there. Extremely nice people.

Great little place to stop for lunch. I had c cheese ? burger ? and fries ?. It really hit the spot and was under $10 with a sweet tea. The sweet tea was on the sweet side which I find perfect!! Thanks for running a little restaurant in the middle of nowhere ?

I stopped by here on my way from the Sunflower Field. The 3 ladies working were very friendly and attentive to me and my guest. I ordered a veggie plate with dressing, Mac and cheese, okra and greens. When I tell you this was some of the best flavored food I’ve ever eaten from a restaurant! I felt tears because my mom, who passed 2 years ago, would have loved to have eaten from here. The greens were the star of my plate. They were fresh and seasoned to perfection. Nothing else needed-no pepper sauce, no salt, no sugar…nothing. I can’t wait until my next trip down here just to try something else.

Great service, very friendly atmosphere and the food is exceptional. I want to go back again. Truly the best dressing I have tasted, yams, and fried okra....just wow.

The meat & three was delicious. Pork chop, yams, lima beans, fried okra, cornbread, and sweet tea- doesn't get much better than that. All that for $13- not including tip. Great service & food!

I usually go there by walking from my house almost every day to get a quick bite to eat for lunch so I can say the overall food is good.

I was traveling back to Texas from Savannah Ga. I thought I had tasted the best oxtails other than my mom or grandmothers. I almost asked if they were in the kitchen! Food excellent! Service excellent! They even let me watch the Cowboys game while they cleaned and closed!!!!

I had the fried catfish and it was tender and juicy. My three sides were fried okra (tasty), lima beans (yummy) and yams (delicious, reminded me of the ones my Mom used to make). The cornbread muffin was good, if a bit dry. The one slight downside was the plastic fork and foam plate. I know that real plates and forks are costly to clean, but they would have been a welcome addition to a really good meal.
