As a Mexican American, I can be pretty picky when it comes to “Mexican” food but Habaneros in Bessemer truly impressed me! Not only was the food authentic and delicious, but the service was also outstanding. Our server, Uriel, was attentive and friendly with great menu suggestions. He recommended the #21, which includes flank steak and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans, it was packed with flavor! I also had their Cadillac margarita which was refreshing and made to perfection....

There was definitely a language barrier happening with my waiter. He even brought someone additional to the table to help him and I still was not able to get the drink I was requesting. The food is not the authentic version I’m used to as a Cali native. I probably would not return.

My wife and I arrived about 2:35pm on Saturday May 17, 2025. She ordered the pork carnitas with black beans and fresh onions as opposed to sauteed. The food arrive hot and clearly fresh. The carnitas were perfectly cooked and were very tender. Black beans were good. She really enjoyed everything.
