I ordered the hamburger steak and I found a piece of plastic underneath it...and to top it all off my baked potato was over cooked. Oh and the waitress wrote my order wrong and didn't bring refills.

Such a sweet little place. In town with my boyfriend for a week for his job. We decided to go here for breakfast as we love little 'hole in the wall' country cafes. This one didnt dissapoint. You could tell most customers were regulars as everyone seemed to know one another, which provided a very at home comfortable vibe. We immediately loved the atmosphere. Prices are EXTREMELY LOW. I got biscuits and gravy and home fries. Both were perfect. (Thankfully, since this was a cheat meal for me, lol) we went up to pay and the nice cashier explained they only accept cash or check. (This was our fault since of course we both failed to read the huge sign on the door that clearly read, "cash or check only) lol. Well we had been talking to a nice customer (woman in line behind us) and when my boyfriend attempted to walk out to go to an ATM up the road, the nice customer said she would take care of our check. (And she was not taking no for an answer. It was so kind. (Just one example of the lovely people weve came across in Bessemer.)So we let her and left and decided to go back the following morning so we could pay it forward. We both enjoyed another great breakfast and my boyfriend decided to pay for two separate elderly customer's checks. The cashier then told him that the elderly man who he was paying for usually pays for several other people's checks each week. So if you want to leave with a full belly and kindness in your hearts, go eat here. Sorry so long, it was just a sweet experience and wonderful example of some kind down to earth people here in Bessemer.

Stopped in after staying the night on I-59. The restaurant is adjacent to a post office and subsidized housing. The restaurant is showing its age but the food was good. I got 2 eggs with hashbrowns, toast and smoked sausage. My wife got 2 eggs with grits and biscuits with gravy. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.

The food was good loved the chicken livers and gravy. The help is concerned about you as a customer. Bessemer for a smile after eating that is.

Awesome Breakfast, Always there if I don't feel up to cooking for my family but we want a home cooked meal. My go-to.
