This place is excellent. Please don't compare it to a 5-star dining destination in a major metropolis. GainesRidge is simply a delightful dining destination in a small southern town, full of charm and history. Our fried green tomatoes, steak and shrimp were excellent. Plus the Black Bottom Pie is definitely one of the 100 dishes you must try in Alabama before you die. The presentation was simple and straightforward. The chipped plates, the mismatched flatware and the furniture from years gone by all add to the charming ambience. The host and server made us feel "at home". It is most assuredly one of those places that will be on our "must return" list.

Great food! Everyone here is so friendly. If you have the time ask about the history of the house it's fascinating!

My husband and I made a reservation for dinner for our anniversary. Took a while after entering before someone acknowledged us and we didn't know whether it was a seat yourself type of place or what so we just waited until someone came to take us to our table after 10 mins or so. It is nicely decorated and makes you feel like you are back in time. There are a few different rooms that tables are placed in. The rolls were Parker house style yeast rolls and were delicious. Salad was great. We both had steaks. Mine was pretty good but husbands was not. He said it had a lot of fat and gristle. Baked potatoes were very good. Wish they had more side selections like vegetables though. Was a nice dinner but next time, I would like to try something else to eat.

The ambiance is wonderful. Food takes a long time to prepare. Have been 3 times because people keep telling me how wonderful it is, however food has been mediocre at best. A good experience for the area, but the food is really not very good.

Very cool old house fixed up as a restaurant. Lot of history here. A must stop if you're in the area and want a nice meal.

What a delight we discovered this past Saturday! Gains Ridge Dinner Club is in a wonderful antebellum home that is very tastefully decorated and diverse throughout. Dinner is served in many different rooms and each party is well spaced out. Outdoor dining is available. Service was very good. Everyone's meal was absolutely delicious and properly prepared. The only real drawback was most of the menu contained shrimp and I am allergic to shrimp, so my options were limited. The fried Pickles and fried green tomatoes were great appetizers and were generous in their portions. The dinner salads were very good. Our ribeyes were cooked to perfection! The Keylime pie and Black Bottom Pie were great endings to a great meal. We will definitely be back!
