Haven't made the trip in several years. Rumor was that the ham and cheese was changed & wasn't as good as the old days. I was pleasantly surprised. The infamous Ham Sandwich has changed slightly but was still fantastic. While the writing on the walls might seem janky, the restaurant looked nice and clean. I will return for a pizza next time!
Uninspiring place despite its rave reviews here with locals fawning over what I would classify as overpirced (almost $30 for a mini-pizza, ham & cheese sammich + 2 drinks?) mediocre food in a small-town quaint, yet dingy, atmosphere. Staff was friendly, service was quick, but experience failed to live up to the hype of me driving 20 miles "to see what it's all about".
It's exactly what you'd imagine when you think of a tiny country town's restaurant. The food is good there though so I would recommend eating there to anybody who's in that area. On the downside, it looks old and dirty because it's in an old building, and I highly doubt the owners have ever done any remodels or upgrades. They've also let people sloppily write all over every surface on the inside, which sounds like it would be unique or charming but...
