Always the best shoneys in Alabama ...Breakfast is always great...for those wondering breakfast last call is 1045am on weekdays and on Saturday and Sunday it is 1245pm pricing is a little extra to enjoy lunch side as well

My Daddy invited me to join him for lunch here and I hadn't been there in such a long time. I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is so, so inviting and kind. The buffet was loaded with all kinds of country cooking. The cabbage was just like Momma used to make. All was really good, but the fish......that's what's up now. I joked and asked if Jesus was in the back, helping them make that fish because it was heavenly. However, I would like to see the dessert bar have a little more fresh fruit on it for those that prefer God's desserts over man-made. Or hey bring back the frozen yogurt dispenser or ice cream....I can't remember. Told you it had been a while since I visited. I'll be back.

5 star shoneys - good service, food was fresh, constantly changing food out, even when it was almost full just to keep it fresh. It was the best, most well organized shoneys, with the freshest food ive had.

The food was good. Our server was Tammy and she was awesome.
When I was a kid we moved from Wetumpka to Birmingham and we'd meet friends here a couple times a year as it was kinda in the middle.
It's somehow worse than I remembered.
The restaurant was updated sometime in the last 30 years, but that's all I can say for it.
The steak was apparently prepared by people who have never tasted cow meat before... I took two bites and just threw the rest of it away. And the vegetables were fine... for Jack's.
It should have been telling by the prices, the fact there were only like three or four other tables, and the fact that I was the youngest person there by a good 25 years... I'm in my mid-40s and don't have a fixed budget.

We were disappointed with the food tonight. We went for the surf and turf buffet, anticipating good, hot food like we had enjoyed previously. The food was lukewarm at best. The steak did not look edible. The selection of side items was minimal. There seemed to have been a shift in the employees' attitudes since we were there last, and service was not how it has been. We felt like the food was overpriced for what we got tonight.

We used to stop here when traveling. Used to be Quick in and out, good food & value. Still friendly servers. I called ahead, the past 2 visits to verify the price, but they wouldn't honor it even after talking with the person i had talked to on the phone.
