Place right below Lasalles Market and Adjacent to the country store. Have gone back several times with family and friends and all the choices are great! Whether i get a sundae, milkshake or even a slice of homemade pie, you can't go wrong. If you love locally sourced items give em a try.

Amazing ice cream! Thanks to Yelp for helping me find this little gem in Collinsville. I was cruising out in that neck of the woods and was about to head to a nearby ice cream spot which has pretty good ice cream and found this little gem at the top of the list, which is right where it belongs. I was greeted by the super friendly staff when I walked in, and knew right away it was going to be a good ice cream experience. I went with their toasted coconut flavored ice cream and it brought me back to my childhood when my favorite ice cream at the ice cream truck was the Toasted Almond Bar. It was so smooth and creamy, like someone had taken one of my childhood flavor ice cream bars, blended it up into a craft ice cream, and served it in a dish. Yum Yum. I had such a great experience that I took my son there a week later for milkshakes. About the milkshakes, they basically take four scoops of ice cream and add just enough milk to make it the best place to get a milkshake in central Connecticut, hands-down. I went old school with vanilla, next time I'll definitely try out one of their other flavors. Make sure you stop by Black Sheep sometime for an awesome ice cream experience.

If you park in the municipal lot where Bridge Street hits Main Street, walk up toward Main Street and look for the staircase leading downwards (more or less below the LaSalle Market), you'll find it. If in doubt, follow the chalked arrows someone with a great sense of humor drew on those stairs. Welcome to one of the cutest little ice cream shops I've seen in a while - Black Sheep Sweet Treats. The vibe was great- lots of young smiling faces behind the counter and in the small dining room. There was even live music in the air as a young guitarist was working on a song. They had sixteen kinds of ice cream on the menu board tonight, I guess seventeen if you counted their ice cream for dogs. Peanut Butter, Banana, Chocolate Chip caught my eye, but so did Maple Chocolate Chip. I don't think I have ever heard of Maple Chocolate Chip before, so when Nicole (the scooper on duty with a 1,000 megawatt smile) nodded her approval at my choice, I had a feeling it was going to be pretty good, and it sure was. The maple flavor was distinct, but not overpowering, and there was a ton of tiny chocolate chip flakes swirled into the ice cream. It was a great combination of flavors, believe me. We also made a selection from their impressive bakery shelves and took home a delicious Snickers bar. Our small ice cream and pretty big Snickers bar ran just eight bucks and it sure was eight bucks very well spent. If you love ice cream and want to have some in a very cool place with friendly service- the Black Sheep will sure be a solid choice.

Ok. For real. Some of the best ice cream I've had in Connecticut. We almost missed going here too. Thank god I had to go to the bathroom so badly and went on a mission or I would have missed out on some of the best ice cream ever. Thankfully, they put a sign out front or I would have maybe missed the lower side entrance to the shop (and yes, they have a nice clean restroom). I was immediately sold on the Elvis ice cream and the Guinness with chocolate chips. And ohhhhhhhh man were they both good. You can actually taste the Guinness-iness and the Elvis ice cream was peanut butter with bananas and would do The King proud. Hopefully it's not another 2 years til I'm in this neck of the woods again.

This place is in an ideal spot right by collinsville kayak and canoe! A perfect sweet treat right after a few hours of kayaking. There are some seating areas inside as well as picnic and benches in the shade right outside! Also plenty of bike racks if you're biking over there! The shop smelled of delicious waffle cones as soon as you opened the door. The service was quick and friendly. I got bananas foster in a waffle cone. Both so delicious! Didn't have that fake banana flavor!

Among so many of their awesome offerings, the strawberry ice cream keeps calling my name.

Pretty much the most delightful way to spent a hot Sunday afternoon if ever there was one. If you aren't local, you'll feel like you are before you've enjoyed your last creamy classic bite of sugar cone. This timeless little gem is tucked away underneath LaSalle Market, which if you've made the most of your Collinsville outing, you will have just come from. The shop has a few tables but is pretty tiny. For me tho, ice cream tastes better sitting outside on the benches or the patio anyhow.
