DO NOT GET THE CATFISH!! It’s not fresh or hand breaded. Very chewy and definitely not worth spending money on. We got our food TOGO and I couldn’t eat it. My husband’s pork sandwich was good but not much meat. Fries are good.

It is a short drive out of Tuscaloosa, depending on where you live. It is located right on Hwy 11 not far past where you turn to get on the interstate 20/59. Great food and service.

I stopped in Tuscaloosa for an overnight stay when returning from my annual trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I wanted barbecue and have previously tried the well-known Tuscaloosa spots. This time I hoped to find a lesser known, but still delicious, bbq spot. I was staying on the east side, so when I came across recommendations for Cottondale's The Pottery Grill, my decision was made. It was easy to find, not far from I-20. It wasn't large or fancy, a typical roadfood stop in Alabama including the requisite Crimson Tide memorabilia. The person working at the counter was friendly and helpful. I got a chicken plate which came with a generous amount of grilled chicken with a tasty sauce, two sides (I chose potato salad and turnip greens),and the ubiquitous slices of white bread typically served with southern bbq. The chicken was moist with a good smoky flavor and a tasty bbq sauce. The potato salad, while not as good as my mother-in-law's stellar example, was very good as were the turnip greens. The only thing missing was a bottle of Crystal hot sauce. The person working at the counter recommended that I not skip the banana pudding for dessert. She was right; I'm very glad that I listened to her. It was yummy: creamy with a good banana flavor from the fresh banana accented by the pieces of vanilla wafers scattered throughout it. I left full and with a smile on my face. I can definitely see myself stopping here again.

I placed a carryout order. It was ready right on time, carried out to my car, and accurate. The food was so delicious! The smokey flavor was in every bite and the sides were just as good as the meats! Will definitely be back. And the value for what I paid... cheaper than groceries.

Walked in, and the people were nice. It was a great deal on food and was expecting great food, too. Although the only good thing I had eaten was the fries. The pork had no seasoning and was covered in sauce that was way too much. Even putting mayo and BBQ sauce on bread with pork didn't do it, no justice. The Mac n cheese wasn't even Mac n cheese. ——————————————————— Now, now let's talk about the atmosphere. The atmosphere looked rather decent until you really get to looking into things. The whole place looks run down, there was nothing clean at all, the walls were nasty, the trash can was gross the floors looks like they just only used water. Then, when you walk into the bathroom, you can see that there is no high maintenance. I don't know about you, but i don't want my place to look like this, let alone let others see the disguste that is going on in the restroom. ——————————————————— I will not be returning back here.
