Simplistic menu, which is a good sign the chef specializes in the dishes offered. I was a little surprised breaded chicken was in the chicken ramen and hoped for more garnishes, but the broth was flavorful, and noodles had a good bite texture. The menu could use a few descriptions under the items to better explain the offering to the customer. The artwork was beautiful, and I spent more time looking at the art than eating the food.

I’m not sure what everyone else ate that was so good, but none of us liked our food. My son got the ramen….it looked like a ramen noodle packet. My tonkotsu was drenched in some kind of a soupy liquid and the eggs looked grey…it was overall just awful. The most disappointing part was that the food was so expensive.

Spicy Pork Ramen The pork is stale and the meat is sour. The ramen is not made with bone broth but instant noodles and seasoning packets instead of boiled noodles. Not worth

Never left a review for a restaurant before but, I HAD to for this place. The food was a 1/10, service is pretty average and the atmosphere was like a normal small restaurant. What made me want to leave a review is that I just spent 40$ on 2 bowls of ramen, 5 pieces of gyoza and 2 cokes. Broccoli, cabbage and carrots should be left for vegetable soup NOT ramen. Overpriced and less than average food wise. Will not return

I have no idea how this place has good reviews. I have been to Japan and grew up around Japanese culture, eating amazing foods etc. I know what Japanese food is supposed to look like and this wasn't it. First the tako yaki. They use the frozen kind, and that's ok. Except the actual tako/ octopus was still frozen in the center. Not cold, it was frozen. The "Pork Ramen" was terrible. THEY USED A $0.25 INSTANT RAMEN PACK!!!! I have never seen a restaurant use instant ramen packs... The broth had no flavor, there was barely anything in the the noodles, half an egg that was still cold and a few tiny pieces of pork/ tonkatsu. I've had better instant ramen...I will never be back. This isn't it.Service was fine.

I hate giving a low review, especially for a small business where the owner/proprietor is so nice... so I won't . I will add a caveat that while it might seem like a Japanese place, this is Korean food. Donkatsu is a korean version of Tonkatsu. Their ramen is really ramyun. While Japanese ramen is usually handmade, Korean ramyun is nearly always instant, so Tonki is not doing anything strange by serving it that way. In fact, usually they'd just add egg and green onion, and that's it. The negatives I have are minor, when you consider what it's mean to be. First, I think the mark up on the ramen might be a bit much. I get it. A restaurant needs to make money to survive, and this is probably one of the more profitable dishes. I'd just like to see a little more value added and for them to get it back with increased traffic because they offer more value. Either jazz it up a bit more, or charge a bit less. At the very least, cook those eggs right. They always have a green ring. That's a sign you overcooked them. Cook them two minutes less and let them heat up in the broth. Second, I'd like for them to lean into the Korean nature a bit more. I'd love to see a place do a Budae Jjigae or Tteokbokki. I think people are getting confused and expecting something else when coming here. Korean food has many variants of Japanese dishes, and this place as far as I can tell is doing them exactly as you'd expect to see in Korea.

fried cutlet dipped in soup. It was disgusting. And the cheese cutlet had kraft cheese slices on top with with ketchup. The only thing that was good where the goyza’ but pretty sure they were frozen not fresh made.

I placed a to go order over the phone, the lady was nice but she didn’t say the price over the phone so I based it off of the menus provided on Google. So my assumption was that it’d be around $25 which is no problem. I get there and she says it’s $29.98, I think that it’s weird that the price doesn’t match the prices on the menu. I look at my bank account as I leave and it still says $29.98 which is fine. I looked yesterday and they changed it to $31.16. Absolutely ridiculous. Now I have to dispute the transaction because they went back and changed it. If you go here DO NOT pay with any form of card. Use cash!

Sweetest little spot in Daleville. Had spicy ramen and tonkatsu. Will absolutely be going back along with checking out the market next door. The added bonus is the magnificent artwork on the walls created all drawn by The Chef. Best hidden little gem.

Second time coming here and loved it again so decided to write a review. It's a small restaurant and all the drawings on the walls are done by the owner. The service was fantastic and the food was flavorful. Plus once you're finished eating you can walk right next door and grab yourself some Asian groceries.
