The quality of the food on the buffet line is poor. The chicken-on-a-stick was cold. The fried chicken wings didn't even look as though they had any meat on them - just breading. The honey chicken had some mystery item in it. When we showed it to management, they just shrugged. You are given plastic forks when you sit down. Did you ever try to cut a piece of meat with a knife and a plastic fork - impossible without breaking the fork. The ice cream was either too far down in the container to be able to reach it without getting your sleeve in the ice cream or it was too hard to be able to scoop. The assorted sherbet flavor tasted blah and you couldn't tell one flavor from the next. Try not to sit close to the area where they bus the tables as all you will hear is the noise of dishes being dumped into bins. That is the last time we are going back there.

Stopped in for lunch on saturday. Food was good maybe not as good as it was a few months ago. A good variety and they always keep it put out. Good price.

My wife and I went shopping on Black Friday and took a break to stop and eat lunch at this restaurant, which was a good idea, as the food was excellent and there was a very large selection of different Asian food. We will definitely eat there again!

This is a good restaurant that has an incredible number of selections. While the health score was lower than I would like, it seemed to be clean. I'm sure they made corrections to deficiencies. There are always people in the parking lot no matter what time of day. We will be back.

It still amazes me the amount of food Chow King provides for $7.95. They have fresh sushi with a broad selection. The raw fish tastes fresh. All of their items appear fresh. And they have a broad selection of items such as fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, a variety of soups, fried rice, steamed rice, lo mein, fried chicken wings, chicken on a stick, and numerous other chicken, fish, and pork dishes. Plenty of dessert options, too.

The buffet is like a lot of Chinese buffets. There is a salad bar, soups, sushi bar, hibachi bar, entree bars, desert bar, and ice cream bar. In Alabama of course they have to have fried chicken and fried catfish available, it's a requirement here. I've eaten here often and the service is always good. Some may not like it because I am not sure how much English the servers actually speak. But their English is more than enough. The food has always been good and I've never seen a sign that would make me worry about the cleanliness of the restaurant. For the price, especially at lunch, it's a great deal. Even if you're a picky eater, you can find something here you like.

Food vs. price...... Overall great value. The food is awesome and the service is good. It's hard to find a place that steps up and offers everything at a great price but this is it.

Chow King offers a huge variety of food from which to choose. I especially like their bacon wrapped shrimp and chicken. Service is very good a prices are reasonable.
I have seen many restaurants like this that offer buffet and are priced in the same range. I can say that this is below average. Not very clean, the waiters are not very friendly, and the dish choices are in the average.

This is a way over priced buffet with mediocre food at best. Terrible service everytime they never refill drinks or even speak to you. A family beside us asked to see a manger and the response was a laugh and "no boss here" yeah like they are running the place without anyone in charge....they don't care if you have good service or not. They keep going up on the price monthly so much so that they have started replacing the sign price with pieces of paper written in sharpie! My family will never go back to this place.

It is exactly what you would expect from a large buffet. A substantial amount of mediocre food. The upside is that they do have reasonable sushi for where we are and a 'grill' where you can get the moderately fresh ingredients freshly cooked. If we need to eat a lot of food or a place to go when everything else is closed, like holidays, we go there.

The two of us ate lunch at the Chow King. We could select from an enormous number of dishes. There is also a very tasty Sushi Bar. The dishes are Very Good and the quantity of food served is mind-boggling. The luncheon buffet costs $5.49 per person, a price that will be very hard to beat.
