Can’t rate the food because after waiting over an hour we did not get served. We were the only people dining in. Took 30 minutes after ordering to be told that what I wanted wasn’t available. We never got updates after that while others coming in after us got served their to-go orders quickly. Went to pay for the coffee so we could leave and get food elsewhere and was given a quick, dismissive apology with no remorse. We love to support a small businesses but not when there’s a major lack of customer service and respect.

Was approached 30 minutes after ordering to be told that an item wasn't available anymore. After over an hour of waiting we had to pay for our coffee and just leave. They weren't very apologetic.
My nurse had gotten us a lunch plate and it was good homecooking with somewhat good portions so I would recommend this place to others..

This is a nice place run by a mother and son. It's nice to find places like this cause the appreciation for your business is genuine. The food quality is good. Recipes made from experience not a corporate test kitchen. The greens were really good and so was the mashed potatoes. The corn bread was the only thing I felt was not up to par. The peach cobbler was really niceThe service was friendly. It was just two people so it's not like a corporate restaurant but I didn't have to wait around for anything. The place is a little sparse on decor and character but for a family run operation it's not too bad.The menu changes regularly so you can enjoy different stuff. I felt like the prices were pretty good too. $12.99 for a plate. All in all it's a nice little slice of southern Americana. ?

Good food price to food ratio to be questioned, but it is not IHOP nor waffle house.
Stoped by there yesterday for lunch and did to go order. I loved their chicken and dressing and the mashed potatoes, just good oldfashioned home cooking and very nice people!

Tried this place today. Baked chicken quarter w/white sauce. potato salad and macaroni and cheese as sides and a regular drink. The total was just over $16. The food was good and hot, unfortunately it is overly expensive. There are a half dozen places I can eat 25% cheaper with food as good or better. I'm not sure how these people will make it. # one and done.

Tried Hard Hat café for the first time today from a recommendation posted on FB (never knew this place existed until then) and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The fried fish was the best I've had in years (hot sauce was not needed for that delicious fillet), the yams were cooked to perfection, and nothing went to waste on our plates. All I can say is everything was absolutely on point! Go support this local business you won't be disappointed!!

Cook also served. I asked for eggs over medium. Not many get it right. She did. Only reason for no 5 star is that surfaces were sticky: table top, salt and pepper shakers, napkin dispenser.
