Thank you for taking such good care of us even though we arrived on a holiday right before you closed. We had the best little picnic by the river. You provide the most delicious comfort food. The pot roast, sides, hamburger soup and pizza pockets were all amazing. I wish we could be frequent customers but we live too far away.

Warm home style atmosphere with great food.

We just came to town and this was our first experience with the folks of Decatur. We will be back. The chicken and dumplings were outstanding. The sweet lady even made us fresh cornbread to take home.

I stopped in my first time this past Wednesday I got hamburger steak, my son a burger and I got the butterfinger cake. It was great the patty good size portions and none of that soybean burger mess real hamburger meat was used. the butterfinger cake on point. it was good enough I went back the next day and got pot roast with banana pudding definitely worth going back. I will definitely be a regular there.

Loved trying tge Friday special: Fried Catfish Dinner with Sweet Potato Casserole, Hushpuppies, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Unsweet Tea, & Strawberry Pretzel Salad for my taste of my experience & it was all good including my brother tried his meal & it was all good & we finally tried this restaurant for the first time dining in.

If you want a restaurant with small town vibes and home cooked food this is the place for you. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere. I got their chicken and dumplings and it was fantastic! Great portion sizes, like very giving, impossible to eat in one sitting. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I can’t wait to go back!

This is by far my favorite lunch spot in Decatur right now! Everything I have had has been amazing. The pretzel salad being the very best I’ve ever had! The pot roast is spot on, the chicken and dumplings warms the heart and the friendly staff is the cherry on top!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First Visit – Impressed! Tried the Rustic Rooster for the first time today, and I was genuinely impressed. The food was fresh, hot, and full of flavor — you can really tell they care about quality. Even more impressive was the customer service: friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcome. It's not often you find a spot that gets both the food and the service just right. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

These ladies can cook! I had today's special, Pot Roast. You could cut with a fork. Others in our group had Hamburgers and onion rings and said it was awesome. Will definitely be back.
