Stopped by a couple of Sundays ago righy after lunchtime to snag a burger with my wife. It was my first time in in years so imagine my surprise when half of the menu, including OG S&S classics like the chili mac, just weren't available any longer. I get that food costs going up means less profitable items go away - but pair that with that new-ish horrible ordering system, the hour plus wait for 2 burgers and fries, and incorrect food (ordered cheese fries got chili on them as well and their chili is NOT as good as it once was) and it just adds up to a horrible experience. Sorry Steak and Shake - you used to be part of my Saturday night routine 20 years ago, but now my wife and I will most likely never be back.

My wife and I waited for 40 minutes before we got our two burgers and fries combos. There were very few people in the lobby so that wasn't the issue. Employees were not the issue, so that only leaves leadership as the issue. Everyone should have been at their respective stations not running out back. Manager compensated us with a free brownie and free small milkshake coupon. While I appreciate the thought, I only brought this to your attention kind sir so that maybe you can fit the last piece in. Food was on point, you just need that flattop cranking as I watched too many customers walk out, when there was no one at their stations. There are very few Steak and Shakes around me so please don't kill off another.

It was unexpectedly empty. The service was great and they let us know that they were out of a couple lettuce and tomatoes. That was a little disappointing, but not the end of the world. The food tasted great and the milkshakes were awesome. I highly recommend going and enjoying Stake n Shake.

Ordered 3 meals 2 adult one kids meal my daughter chicken tenders were very hard I was also asked to pull forward and wait up front for fresh made to order food and it was not fresh! My fries was cold the only thing that was hot was one burger from the meal and the chicken tenders! The best thing about the meal was the orange drink! The chicken tenders taste like some kind of fake rib meat it’s awful and on top of that they had no customers only one in front of me that had left the drive thru so no reason to not cook fresh food! Decatur location need to do better! The prices are ridiculous for what you get!

The burger was ok, the bun was so cold it felt like it came out of a refrigerator. Other than that, it was ok. The fries were stone cold, thin and not tasty. They brag about how they are cooked, so I thought they would have a taste. It was our first time there, so I didn't know we had to place our order at a kiosk, pick up our food with no interaction from a person and use our ticket to make the drink machine work. All that to say there was an option for a Tip. haa never saw a person. Since that is their service model, good for them, but I won't return.

We went on a Sunday night after church and it was fairly empty. We didn't expect much but were we ever so surprised. The food was hot, quickly delivered to our tables and service was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
Definitely recommend, they were more than happy to have me and my wife after Applebee's wouldn't serve us. We sat at the table of Applebee's for 34 minutes with no one even willing to assist us. At Steak 'n Shake they had no problem taking our order for us. Staff here deserves a raise.
