From the moment I walked in the door, I knew this would be a good restaurant, but I had no idea just how good. The staff were all super friendly and seemed to enjoy what they do. Me and my wife got the garlic seared tuna carpaccio, tempura udon, and dragon roll. Each and every bite was absolutely amazing. This has instantly become our new favorite restaurant. I doubt there’s a better restaurant in all of Alabama. Keep up the great work!

Had a 52$ to go Sushi order. Just randomly drove by and swung in to take something home for me and the wife. The Playlist in the place was awesome. Staff very frdly. The man sushi chef talked to a customer by 1st name and she replied in his... very nice place.,,, we got the Lion, spider. Dragon and tiger. Sumo rolls

Came here on suggestion from a local friend. Ramen was fantastic. The broth was so smooth. Chatsu was soft and tasty. Will definitely make it a regular lunch spot

For a sushi place, they’ve got KILLER fried food! I got the ginger fried chicken, Cajun fries, and mozzarella sticks. 10/10

I have been a long time customer of sushi sumo. And even vote for them for “Best of the Best” on sushi. However I ordered six different orders of food to-go and was given three packs of soy sauce. Went back in and was given two more packs. That’s not even one pack of soy sauce per order. My mother went back and was told if we wanted any more soy sauce it would be .25 cents per packet. After spending nearly 100$ after tip I find this ridiculous. I will be at Fulins, Ninja, or Rock n Roll next time. I have worked in the food industry and come from a family that owned a restaurant and this is was just plain bad service.
$30 in two sushi plates and the avocado was old and dark, the sushi was tasteless and yet the rolls were very small.
