One star because I cannot give fewer. There were three occupied tables and two people at the bar. We sat for 10 minutes, two servers made eye contact and made no further effort to acknowledge us. A couple arrived and sat at the table behind us and one woman came out from behind the bar to take them menus. We were trying to patronize a local establishment that clearly didn’t want our business. The chain we are currently visiting is more than happy to take our money. Obviously I can’t even rate the water at the Brick Deli & Tavern. Will not go back.
We stopped here for lunch between seeing the Sandhill Cranes and the nearby science museum. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Our waitress was friendly and answered our questions about the menu. I got the Blue plate special which is a soup and half sandwich. I think mine was called turkey surprise. My friend got a sandwich with roast beef. The kitchen accidentally made me a whole sandwich instead of the half so my friend and I shared. The potato soup came with cornbread which I didn't like. Not the fault of the deli, I just don't care for jalapenos in my cornbread. I think that's what they were, maybe green chilis. I Highly recommend eating here, the food was excellent. There is a discount for cash. I liked that the prices for cash versus credit were clearly marked in the menu. I'd like to come back for the live music sometime

Had to flag down a server. Always feel like I have on my invisibility cloak when here. If it wasn’t for friends wanting to go there, I’d never go back.

Sandwich was a soggy mess! Two bites and it disintegrated in my hands. Your menu should say that you have to eat a sandwich with a fork. Absolutely terrible as was the service!

Went on a night they had live music, and it was pretty awesome! Overall its not a huge place, but the patio out back was a nice escape to get some fresh air. Was a decent crowd, and the staff were incredible. I will certainly go back 😁

First stop after many years of hearing about it - I'm a former resident of the River City. The sandwiches are phenomenal! I'm upset I haven't been sooner, and will definitely be back on my next visit.
5 years later - 2024, it was just as good!
