We stopped and picked up a sandwich and a tuna stuffed Tomato to take with us for a picnic. It was very nice. I've been here several times and the sandwiches are delicious.

I won’t be returning to this deli. I had a lunch meeting there today and parking was a serious problem. The city of Decatur has removed all the parking, leaving only a few curbside. As someone with a disability, I had to use the parking deck. That deck has no exit on the deli side, which forced me to climb a few stairs, then descend more, and finally walk down a slope across the deck before jaywalking across the street. Using the crosswalk would have added roughly 1,000 extra feet. For me as an amputee, this was both painful and unsafe.
It’s clear that Tab and the city council are disregarding the needs of small businesses and people with disabilities. Their new parking garage won’t succeed if they drive businesses away.
To The Brick: I truly enjoyed your food and atmosphere, but I cannot risk the danger of returning.

A great place with a historical atmosphere. I had the Ruben with the potato salad. It was all delicious. I did have the banana pudding and I would probably pass on that the next time. I did not feel that it was anything to write home about. I was a meh. Not great and not bad. Our server was phenomenal. That made the experience even better. I would strongly recommend going to The Brick Deli & Tavern when you are in Decatur, AL!
