This place went downhill 3rd awful experience in a row not going back

Good service, good entertainment, good food, but my old body can’t handle that much sodium.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truly Impressive Hibachi Experience – A Must-Visit in Dothan

I stopped by Mikata Japanese Steakhouse expecting a good meal, but left genuinely impressed. The hibachi experience where the chef cooks right at your table was top-tier entertaining, engaging, and delicious. The timing was smooth, and the chef added flair and humor without missing a beat.

My steak and fried rice were perfectly cooked, the veggies were fresh and crisp, and the portions were generous. The flavor? Spot on. You can tell they use quality ingredients and know what they’re doing.

What really surprised me was the variety; this isn’t just a place for hibachi. They’ve got sushi, a full bar, and even options for kids and families. The atmosphere was clean, upbeat, and welcoming, and the staff made sure we were taken care of from start to finish.

Definitely a five-star experience and a spot I’ll recommend to anyone visiting Dothan. If you’re looking for dinner and a show, Mikata delivers on all fronts.

This was a good hibachi restaurant. The food and service were very good. There's an upcharge on the fried rice vs white rice that we weren't expecting. Overall a delicious meal

We went to Mikate Japanese Steakhouse last night and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and on point from start to finish. The food was amazing, fresh, and full of flavor.

It was my son’s first time at a hibachi-style restaurant, and even at 17, he was thrilled with the whole experience. The chef put on a great show, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. It was a night we’ll definitely remember, and we’ll be coming back for sure. Highly recommend!

Minimal food portions and watered down soups and salads. Definitely not worth the price.

THEY LOST OUR RESERVATOINS

We called and made a reservation. Had a whole conversation just go get here and they not have it!!! Currently 45 minutes past my reservation time! Don’t come here if you ever want to eat and don’t count on a reservation being written down.

Thomas was our Chef, he is good entertainment and an awesome cook!! Always enjoy having him as our Chef! Always a fun show!!!!

I ate here today and had a bully for a chef. Just sitting, minding my business, not talking and waiting for the food, yet he calls me out numerous times for being too quiet and that I’m not reciprocating his energy and just drinking my beer???. Oh, also get ready to get called out if you even politely get up to use the BATHROOM. I quote, “Where are you going? I’m not done cooking.” Disrespectful is an understatement and what was supposed to be a relaxing and fun night has turned into an annoying experience. I would list his name but of course he wasn’t wearing a name tag.

I was pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful and there was plenty of it. There was nine of us. You will not leave here hungry. This was my first visit. Wait time was very reasonable too. I selected the steak and chicken. Our chef did an excellent job preparing our meals and entertained us as well. He was very attentive to our requests and interacted well with each guest at our table. Our hostess was very friendly, took our orders quickly, and made sure we had everything we needed. An excellent experience!
