It's definitely a great mom and pop style southern cooking restaurant. Really good tea and cobbler. You even get a chance to win your meal free with the draw of a chip out a bag.

Really enjoyed this local favorite. Food was really good! Loved the fried chicken and the chicken fried steak & gravy! Ice cream and cake for dessert!
I've never been to a restaurant where the waitress yells out that if you are done eating you need to get your butt up and get out. I understand you need the space for other customers but there is no need to be rude to the customers you have. I have been saying for years I wanted to try this place, I'm glad I did, now I can put it to rest and go somewhere a little more hospitable.

First time being there. We heard it was a popular place and sure enough going in at noon was a mistake. Lined up for the buffet. Food was good but wife had a problem with the dumplings being peppered too much. We had to sit with three other people at a table but we are not adverse to meeting those of like mindedness. One of the things you will need to decide on whether it offends you or not is their asking those who are not eating to leave due to limited space. We don't like to be rushed at meal time so we just kept eating until the place started to clear. But be prepared to be asked to leave if finished during rush hour, etc. I guess we will try it again in the future. Not as Southern as we would like it but will do.

Loved the food and the selection at a great price. Their sweet iced tea was great! Waitresses was very nice and fast even though they was packed. Will definitely be back!Vegetarian options: They have a salad bar and your choice of veggies

Welcome to rural Southern hospitality at it's best. Great food, great service, and a uniquely down-home atmosphere. Beverages and dessert included in the price.On the way out, the staff even promised to keep us in their prayers.On the outside wall there's a beautiful painting by a local artist. Not only was the mural signed but the local artist phone number appears for those who wish to contact her.It's a good idea to bring cash. Like so many small businesses in this part of Alabama, their credit card processor extracts a nasty surcharge from the cafe's customer.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room for wheelchairs.
