Let me start off by saying I have been a waitress in the past and also managed a restaurant. I know all too well how important tips are. There are times when our family eats out that we have 15-20 people with us. And trust me we tip better than the added gratuity some restaurants add. We believe in Tipping. In my years of restaurant business I have seen zero tip (not due to lack of good service) and I have seen some very generous tips but I served them all the same.
My granddaughter and her boyfriend went into the restaurant tonight because she was really wanting Hibachi. Mind you she eats it quite often because her Mom will even pick up drive through often (and tip) most of the time they are with the family. They were approached and told if they ate there they would have to charge them extra because they didn’t tip last time they were there. And the lady proceeded to tell her where she sat. This has been months ago. She said pay more or get it to go! They added $2 to the bill. I have never heard of a restaurant doing such. Especially to teenagers. 1) they were using their money and they don’t have much) we have tipped generously everytime we dine in and drive through!
My daughter called and spoke to someone and based on how the situation was handled we will not be back. And we will also share the experience with others as well. But then again maybe our whole family will go and tip $2!
Shame on you Maneki! I think if 2 kids come in and miss tipping because they had enough for a meal and nothing more I would be thankful for the business because if you are slow enough you remember them that well you need the business!

Our first visit to Maneku Sushi was just wonderful. The new appetizer, Kani tempura, was very good. I ordered 2 rolls and was very pleased with the taste and size of them. My husband ordered a bulgogi bento box. It tasted very good also. (I stole some bites) The staff was very attentive and friendly. We're definitely going back. This is our new go to restaurant for sushi when we're in town.

The quality vs price is 5/5. We stopped in here just on a whim not expecting much. Sometimes that's the best way. It doesn't look like anything great from the outside but what a fantastic surprise that the food was outstanding. I did not expect this kind of freshness from a place so far away from the coast. The outside looks terrible but that's not their fault and the inside is a lot nicer. My selection of nigiri was mouthwatering even thinking about it. Everything was excellent, the food the service the promptness.

Love this place....but I only go when the old man is there (that's the secret)..he does a fantastic job with the sushi. He gets a five star.....the others are not even close...the old man's sushi is better in every way..if you get the others, the sushi will be smaller and definitely will not look or taste like his. Love all the servers as well.

Our server forgot our drinks for the first 15mins.. we got them finally, and after 25 mins of just sitting there, we paid for our drinks and walked out. We had ordered $107 worth of food but after the dirty place and failed service, it was just going to go downhill from there. We went to Chick fil A and that pretty much saved the evening. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place... it will not be in business long.

The place is dirty, sticky floors, with bits of food on the floor...and smells like an old taqueria that needs a deep clean. Our server forgot our drinks for the first 15mins.. we got them finally, and after 25 mins of just sitting there, we paid for our drinks and walked out. We had ordered $107 worth of food but after the dirty place and failed service, it was just going to go downhill from there. We went to Chick fil A and that pretty much saved the evening. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place... it will not be in business long.

Unfortunately i was disappointed. The sushi was dry, the soy sauce even had a very odd, cleaning product taste and within 15 mins of leaving the restaurant after eating....i had stomach issues. Very disappointing and wasted so much $. Going to avoid eating my leftovers bc of the experience afterwards.
