I went to this restaurant because I really enjoy eating from their food truck parked often on Rucker Blvd. I went to Nogales Sonora when I was a teenager and I LOVED the street vendor foods. These guys are the closest thing to what I experienced all those years ago. The restaurant has a very charming atmosphere (I'm a huge fan of the movie "Coco"). The food options in restaurant are pretty much the same as the food truck plus a lot of your standards Mexican fare. I ordered a torta with carne asada. If I'm nit picking, the only criticism I have is that there's not a lot of flavor in their meats. They're very greasy, which means that they're cooking them on a flat kitchen grill and not an actual barbecue grill. That means it's not really "asada". The torta was decent, but it would have been great if they'd actually seasoned, marinated, and grilled the meat. But overall I enjoyed the experience and would go again.

My so is stationed in Alabama, and he recommended this place. Everything was great. I had the beef cheek street tacos, meat was well seasoned, and tender. The Horchata was a little on the sweet side, only draw back was no beer but the host and waitress where super friendly. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

Simply... the best. I just had the Mojarra Frita (whole fish) for the first time and it was amazing. The skin was seasoned and crispy and the meat was moist but flakey. Perfect, I will be having this again soon and sharing my experience with family, friends and followers!
Great food and service!
Amazing experience here. What sets this place apart is that they not only advertise authentic cuisine, they follow through and offer an assortment of food that allows you to dive an exciting and flavorful experience. I expect to be coming back for some more food in the near future!

I am reviewing the restaurant called Michoacana on Rucker Blvd near Planet Fitness but don't know why the picture and name are incompatible: Worst place ever. RIP-off. Tiny steak tacos with grisly meat. Difficult to eat, constantly spitting out gristle. Horrible, stale, sweet bread which they insisted I pay for even though I complained and didn't eat it. $2 charge for a cup of water. Bill was too high and had to correct it. Never again.
They charged me $2 for a cup of water. The steak tacos were all gristle. Good flavor but difficult to eat since I was too busy spitting out gristle. The sweet dessert bread was stale and hard as a rock to which they agreed it should be soft. I didn't eat it and complained, but they still insisted I pay for it. When the bill came, it was incorrect in their favor. Never again. Avoid at all costs.

Bad service, The food, ahhh never again
It's a little off the beaten path, but so worth it! Tacos are 6in soft corn tortillas and at only $2 each, you'll happily scarf down 4 or 5. Lots of mainline and obscure meat options, but the Carnitas (marinated pork) should be your first choice. The Asada (steak), Pollo (chicken), and Chorizo (spicy sausage) are all excellent as well. Our family of 5 (2 parents, 3 kids) got 4ea (16 total) of the above-mentioned meats in tacos, plus a carnita quesadilla. Rounded out with a side of rice for that one weird kid, and we were all stuffed with 3 tacos left over for $44. SWEET! They also serve plenty of the glass-bottled sodas and fountains of fruit juice drinks, including Horchata. Eating-in will see you in a relaxed open space with quiet TVs. I went in to order to-go and only waited about 10 mins or less, granted it was less busy. No website yet, but they have a FB page and I've included a pic of the menu. Try it, you won't regret it!
