Great waitresses! Great service!

Dave Livingston

I had a simple scrambled eggs and ham. 2 out the 1st 3 bites of eggs were loaded with egg shells. Ham was so tough I could hardly cut it with a knife. Waitress was unable to handle the number of tables she had.

I ordered the meatloaf sampler. The chicken and dumplings were raw and hard. Sent back. The baby carrots were hard and funny taste, sent back.
Worst meal I had at cracker barrel.

We always stop here and eat on the way home from the beach. My husband got the campfire chicken today. While he said it was delicious, it was very messy to eat. They should give your wet napkins to wipe your hands. Also, offer the option of two leg quarters instead of a breast, the white meat was a little dry. Overall a good visit!

I seldom eat here because it is too noisy. They need to have an acoustic ceiling to absorb the noise.
But I have eaten here more than in prior years since I discovered their anew York Strip steak with eggs and grits. It comes with biscuits, butter, grape jelly. You have to pay extra for your drinks as usual. Whoever is grilling that steak sure knows how to grill a medium rare New York Strip steak and season it. I have never tasted a better steak anywhere. Wish they would sell the spices so that I can see if I can cook and season a steak that good. The young lady waiting the table was new and she did a great job of picking up unwanted and dirty plates. That is always a sign of a good server, in my opinion, because when I am finished with an item I want it immediately removed. Her tip went up for that alone.

Cracker Barrel never disappoints. It’s the one place we know we’ll get excellent home cooked style food and the service is always good. I hope they never change it. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. It’s loved just the way it is.

We visited this past weekend and will never go back again. The waitress we had was sweet and put in a job she did not deserve there. Food was barely seasoned or edible, whatever you do do not order the fried okra, its like eating cardboard. The hostess when we first walked in had a line of people behind us and wouldn’t make eye contact at all. When I finally asked if he was sitting people he laughed and said he was new then proceeded to look at the screen for another 5m before a different girl walked up and gave me attitude about not getting the menus. Very unprofessional, she proceeded to then whip her head around and ask who he thought he was talking to. We have been to so many Cracker Barrel’s and never had such terrible atmosphere and food. When I expressed to the cashier she told me she used to be in the kitchen, then continued on about how ā€œthere’s a grumpy man and woman back there and a foreign who no one understandsā€ and agreed the food was bad. I never saw a manager even after sending back my dumplings, they still made us pay for it, but we just wanted to get out of there. Oh and the wait was an hour for food. Whoever owns this place needs to knuckle down before they really loose business.
