Honestly the food is worse and worse everytime I come here. It tastes like I'm eating leftovers that were microwaved.. Soup came out cold, sent it back, when it came back out it was clear it had been microwaved as the outside was hot but soup was still cold in the middle. Veal parm was soggy. The only saving grace was our server Angela who was very attentive.

Our family had a really nice experience here. Very attentive staff, great variety of items on the menu, and the lobster bisque was delicious! It was a good local option in an area with lots of chain restaurants.

The best authentic italian around this area

We found this place off a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, the atmosphere is lovely and there was live music outside. They have so many options and they are all cohesive and well thought out. I would patronize this place again, but I will say that many of their chairs are not big booty friendly. Do with that what you will.

Tonight I took two friends to dinner early to arrive and find a table where it was a little warmer and more comfortable. Suddenly someone blasted us with the music to the point where my friends and I couldn’t speak for the loud base pounding our ears. The waitress upon our kind request turned the volume down so we could eat and talk and hear each other. This lasted until the owner decided to blast the music from his kitchen or back room location not answering our request to the waitress to please place the volume down again. She actually let us know the owner did this and she was not going to ask for us. We decided we COULD NOT enjoy the meal and wanted dessert but no way were we spending another moment or $ to go where the owner is so rude to do this to his patrons. We hand carried our money to the cashier to settle our bill and get the heck out of this annoying place. New tables not a plus when the owner is this rude. My 4500 ladies in my Baldwin County Ladies group will have a warning for sure not to give him the business since he is a jerk to treat us in the NW corner of the dining area under the speakers like this! Rude person and nothing will make me want to go back to this place! Big mistake Mr.! You treated the wrong person with disrespect! I will be happy to share my experience.

Gelato joes always reminds me Lady and the Tramp coming in. It’s a true Italian restaurant that also makes fantastic bushwhackers (the main reason we come)! Their chicken Parmesan is top notch and cannolis are great!

Joe helped me with a catering order for a hiring event and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! You can tell how dedicated he is and the food was unbelievable. We ordered the lasagna, garlic bread and caesar salad and everyone at the event was thrilled with the food. I truly can’t thank Joe enough!

Gelato Joe’s has officially become one of my favorite spots in Foley. I spent my first date here having drinks, and it was such a great experience that we came back the following week for food during karaoke night. Both times were outstanding.

The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and full of energy — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. The food is great, the drinks are strong, and the vibe is exactly what you want on a night out.

But what really sets this place apart is the exceptional service, especially from our bartender and server, Kate Musgrove. Kate was absolutely incredible. She was juggling a full bar, multiple tables, karaoke night crowds, and still managed to take care of us with a smile the entire time. She works hard — and you can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. Drinks were quick, food came out perfect, and she checked on us often without ever making us feel rushed. Kate is the kind of employee that makes you want to come back again and again.

If you’re anywhere near Foley, you have to go to Gelato Joe’s. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere — and if you’re lucky, you’ll have Kate taking care of you. Highly recommend!

Delicious food in an unexpected location! The house wine was a delicious bottle of Pinot noir from 2023. Fantastic in every way. We will be back for sure!

Goat or waitress was just a pleasure to have around our table.
Excellent excellent service by her and she is a phenomenal staff member.
Anything extra she could do for us she tried, what a great gal.
I hope other customers get her because she is a terrific person.

If I could give 0 stars here I would do so. I just paid $23 for this: a small bowl of ravioli and a small cup of soup. When I called to talk to them about it, they said I could drive back down from Silverhill and they would give me 2 more ravioli instead of giving me a refund or trying to make things right. This was supposed to be a family member's birthday dinner, too. The final comment from management was, I'm sorry ma'am I don't know what to tell you. It's really sad that some businesses can treat customers like this and that it's acceptable to charge inflated prices that don't align with what you actually receive.

If you love Italian food you will love this place. The service was right on point and he offered great suggestions. I had the fettuccine Alfredo and had the stuffed shells. Both was hot fresh and great taste. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.
