We ate here for the first time by recommendations. After being seated we order our beverages. My wife had ordered water with a lemon. My beverage was brought but her water was not. We had to ask again… of course it didn’t come so we ask again. Finally it was brought but without a lemon. Next we ordered… I had two shrimp tacos… Five total small shrimp. 3 and 2. Lots of cheese and tomatoes. Disappointed… Wife had beef tacos… so much grease in the bottom of tortillas that she couldn’t eat it!! I requested a different salsa that was not as spicy and the waitress laughed at me. So I requested sour cream which I got charged $1.90 for a condiment that is normally served with tacos. Service was not attentive and the food was not great either. We will have to get our Mexican food from another place.
We have had the pleasure of eating at this amazing restaurant twice! We can say, this is a gem of a restaurant!! From the happy hour margaritas to an ala carte tamale… it’s absolutely delicious!! The chips and salsa are ON POINTE! We’ve had a few menu items that have been great.. queso Berria quesadilla was amazing!! The staff is amazing, and prices are more than reasonable!!! Don’t miss the opportunity to step in to this amazing gem of a restaurant !! Foley, take care of your own!!!
The Tortilla Soup tasted okay, but was about 80% rice, a small amount of chicken and not much liquid. My margarita was mostly ice, which I scooped out. The server asked 2 out of our party of 4 if anther drink was wanted, ignoring myself & my husband's almost empty glasses. Entrees were served one at a time with a lot of time in between. I was served last as everyone else was almost finished with their meal. There are many better Mexican restaurants in the area, and I will not go back.

I've long been saying "the last thing Foley needs is another Mexican restaurant" because I swear there must be 50 with 10 miles of downtown, especially if you count the taco stands, to-go counters in stores and all that. But I guess I'll have to eat my hat (with salsa and a nice queso fresco) because this one is worth seeking out.
The menu's more or less traditional Ameri-Mex type cuisine; while there are a nice handful of tacos to choose from, there's also a full menu of other standbys like quesadillas, burritos, fajitas and all that mariachi.
I haven't actually tried a taco here (yet!) but I can say the Capechano Burrito I had here (with steak and chorizo) was a banger. What really set it apart from other restaurants in the area was the sauce which was clearly homemade and savory as all getout. The steak was (mostly) tender, the chorizo was (mostly) a flavor bomb without being overly greasy. But that sauce was the ace in the hole. The rice and beans were good, perhaps better than average, too.
The Quesabirria Quesadilla got a thumbs up from my dining partner thanks to the juicy shredded beef barbacoa, although he did complain that some of it was tough to chew, as shredded beef can be. It was also quite fatty. The birria soup (dipping sauce) was beefy goodness.
Another dining partner tried the Torta Cubana, but had it altered so much I can't say how it is right off the menu. I did steal some of the ham (salchica) and fries and both were pretty good if you're in the mood for a sandwich.
Of interest is that the complimentary salsa is one of the mildest I've ever tasted. It's far from a plain tomato sauce (looking at YOU, [insert name of that forgettable place north of Loxley that is somehow still in business when El Paisita exists]. It's mild, but there's flavor here. Still, if you expect a salsa to bite back, you'll want to add some hot sauce. Or a lot.
Service was friendly and attentive. My only non-food related complaint would be the fierce afternoon sun blazing in through the front door and windows was quite annoying for everyone sitting on the left side of the restaurant. They need some shades to cut back on the glare!
Food-wise, I have no complaints, but one suggestion: the burritos come in a myriad of choices, but one that's lacking is chicken and chorizo. There's just chorizo, and the steak and chorizo one I tried, but chicken and chorizo is the flavor combo you don't know you love yet. I'm sure they'd do it if asked but it'd be nice to see it on a menu somewhere.
I didn't think I'd ever need to try a new Mexican place in this area since we have so many already, but I'm glad I did. This is worth trying if you live in the east Foley area, and worth a drive from other parts of town to see how they do things just a teeny bit different from your usual haunt.
Parking: Free lot shared with other businesses which are not usually open during typical dinner hours, so after lunch parking should never be an issue.
Wheelchair accessibility: The building is atop a small hill, and part of the parking lot is on an incline, so access uphill may be difficult for some people. The sidewalk in front is level, and access inside is fairly easy to navigate.

The food is always top notch. I haven't had anything that disappointed me yet. I generally order to go and it's ready by the time I get there (10-15 minutes). I don't even like rice and beans but I always steal some from my spouse when we eat there! Good, clean, and excellent service. My favorite Mexican restaurant in town hands down.

We ordered 'Fancy Premium Guacamole', queso, and chips and salsa to go. The guac was very disappointing.
The guacamole wasn't fancy or premium. I will spend extra for fresh made guac but this wasn't it. If it's called 'fancy premium', I would expect fresh chunks of avocado and for it to be fresh made. Not something made this morning.
The queso was fine and quite large. The salsa with the chips was good but the salsa was super small.
They didn't send extra chips more than what would have come with the 'chips and salsa', so we wouldn't have enough chips for everything except we ate very little of the pasty guac.
Also we would have ordered more but they didn't have any other vegetarian options on the menu pictured in Google maps.
