Moe’s Original BBQ in Foley is a great spot all around. It’s right next to the Farmer’s Market that is Saturday mornings.
The food is really good, the service is fast and friendly, and the restaurant itself is large, clean, and still looks brand new.
My go-to order is the pork BBQ plate with BBQ beans and potato salad.
It is a few dollars more than some other BBQ places in Alabama, but the quality, atmosphere, and service make it worth it. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

*Moe’s Original BBQ, “A Southern Soul Food Revival,” is located near OWA on Mifflin Road in Foley, Alabama, several red lights off of HWY 59. It’s a chain restaurant, which really means absolutely nothing, because their food consistently tastes uniquely fantastic. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and the staff is always top notch. 🌟Moe’s has been serving Alabama-Style BBQ since 1988. For people like me who don’t cook, that means they slow-smoke their meat in a pit using oak and fruit hardwoods. Then they drench it with a vinegar-based sop sauce to sweeten the meat, creating the delicious flavors. Moe’s offers two sauces. 1, my personal fav, is a red, tomato-based sauce, spicy and tangy. 2, my mom’s fav, is mayo-based white sauce best used for dipping and slathering on top of the meat.🌟 Moe’s has a large menu to choose from including smoked chicken wings, nachos, chicken tenders, meatloaf, brisket, smoked turkey, and fried chicken. The smoked burger, served only on Saturday until they run out, is amazing! 3 of the 4 of us ordered that today. Amazing. I’m a pulled pork fan - bring on that red sauce - and a side of corn bread with just a hint of jalapeño. Whoa Momma! You’ll lick your fingers and reach for more sauce. Bathroom score: 5 Stars. First time eating at Moe’s and it was such a great experience! It’s dog friendly and everyone was so kind and sweet. I got the chicken nachos and it was delicious! The nice man even came outside to say hello and offer some turkey to my dog, overall just a great environment!

Good BBQ, no brisket but what they do have is good.
Overpriced. $37 before tip for two sandwiches and two sides at a BBQ joint is not acceptable. Food is tasty, but the portions are not on par with the price. There’s definitely better out there.

A big disappointment. For a large portion of ribs (6), you only get one rack. Overpriced. The lady at the counter was not friendly (maybe I was just unlucky). The ribs taste good, but the texture is inconsistent (soft on one side and hard on the other), bones are large and there is no much meat around. Maybe other menu items are great, but I can’t say the same for the ribs.
