Not sure how this place is rated this high. We had the deep dish and were hoping it was in the ballpark of Gino’s, Lou Malnati’s or Giordano’s in Chicago. Nope. Way too much sauce (that was very sweet), not near enough cheese and the crust was soggy on the bottom and considerably too thick on the rim. I had two pieces and tossed the rest of a $26 pie. One and done for us. I’ll continue to get the frozen pies shipped from Gold Belly. Oh and the server couldn’t even tell us what was in their cleverly named cocktails. She had no idea what was in any of them.

Scallywags Kraken deep dish delight pizza was definitely the star of the show! The sauce had a rich and bold flavor. We ended up with about half left over and reheated it in the oven on a pizza stone the next day, and it was even better! The tavern style pizza was very delicious too! Two things we certainly won't try again were the garlic bread sticks and the dessert we tried. I can't remember the name of the dessert, but you can see them in my pictures. I tried a couple of bites and threw them in the trash. Highly disappointed! The garlic bread sticks were dry and lacked any garlic flavor! The pizza alone is worth coming back for though!

Looked for a local restaurant that we hadn’t tried before and found Scallywags.

I really wanted to like it- but the food and atmosphere were the only good things.

No other customers when we walked in. Maybe that was a sign. But a few more drifted in before we left. (Including a few guys who got drinks and played pool. The bad language they used wasn’t family friendly. Staff either didn’t hear or didn’t care. )

While the staff was very polite, they had little knowledge of their menu. We were told it was a new menu, but that should have come with training.

There were things I would have got, but they didn’t know how to make it.

I was told the owner was coming, but after almost an hour, still no owner.

Appetizer was really good, but it wasn’t what I ordered.

Pizza was REALLY good!

They use baskets with paper for plates the paper tears and I was worried about accidentally eating it (last pic)

I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

I hardly ever remember to give reviews. I did for this place. Legit Chicago deep dish that would easily hold it's own in the windy city.

So, I got the Kazan stuffed.
It looked so good!
Turns out not so much!
The dough was WAY UNDERCOOKED to the point it was almost raw.
I ordered Italian sausage and it was none existent.
Plus when it was delivered the lid to the box was half opened.
I am SO DISAPPOINTED!
For a “$35 pizza!
Huge FAIL!

Solid choice for pizza . The tavern meat pizza was very good, good toast on the crust. NY pizza was good and we enjoyed our leftovers. Wings were ok, solid but not large, but cooked well. Great theming and cool pinball area. Outdoor patio is pet friendly. We’ll be back.

The double deep dish tastes like red sauce every bite. The kids and I loved our pizza. Service could be better. The dining area was hot.
