New year’s eve we had to wait over 25 minutes to get our food. Restaurant was not busy but a lot of takeout business. After waiting that long, my husband’s shrimp basket plus extra shrimp came out and waiter informs us my request (flounder basket) was out of stock. Why wait until serving time to tell a customer you cannot come up with what was ordered? What happened to your coleslaw- used to be the best in the south with little shrimp and the dressing was perfect. This serving was soupy with mayonnaise and served warm instead of cold. It was unacceptable and especially when you could not substitute sides. Very disappointing meal especially whenShrimp basket was always our favorite placetoeat forthe last 15 yearssince we have comeforthree months as snowbirds.
Had a great dinner here. The staff was incredible.

I have eaten at Shrimp Basket for over 13 years, and tried to support them as a local business. However I have noticed that the quality and portions of their food have steadily declined, while the price of their food has gone up 50% since I started eating there. So half the portions for 50% more price. The dramatic decline in quality seemed to have occurred starting around 2020 during the Covid period, and has steadily declined ever since. I'm not sure if there was an ownership change, or what has happened? Yesterday I went in to try it one last time because someone had given me a gift card. I ask for my traditional white fish plate, and was unpleasantly surprised to find out that they no longer serve white fish, (one of the few things that I really enjoyed on the menue,) and have instead replaced it with Flounder. So I order the flounder instead. When I received my food I got four pieces of fish that was about 30% fish and 70% batter, and about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. To make it worse, the fish tasted like it had been fried in week old burned cooking oil. I felt absolutely ill to my stomach after consuming the fish/batter. That was the final straw for me. I will never return. The only saving grace was the very polite young man who served me, and did an outstanding job.

We have some bonus gift cards and your server did not want us use them. We asked for the manager and the manager was the same way. Try to explain to them that we have been using these bonus gift cards for years. But she just kept saying no. we only wanted to use one card.
Our waitress, Justice, was fantastic! She was bright and cheery and very informative and a lot of fun!!!! What a great southern draw! A+ number one service! We will be back!

Our server Justice was amazing and stayed on top of our needs. We never had to wait or ask for anything. The food was mediocre at best this time. The steamed shrimp was unimpressive and not seasoned. Justice made up for the lack of food quality with her friendly banter and conversations resulting in an overall good experience!!!
